Do you want to fool me???
Diaconu has a far better workrate and has a better handspeed than Oganov...the fight will be much more competative than the one last night...

I have never seen Diaconu before, but i have seen Dawson and I believe he is the class of the division right now. Dawson has got some mad skills, and very good defense, though he has been caugt once or twice.

I havent seen enough of Diaconu to make a fair judgement but...
Oganov sucks period.
He can crack and that is about it.
Zuniga's chin is better than Dawson's.

I don't think Diaconu will be "exposed" to the level that Oganov was against Zuniga, but I do believe he will lose a decision.

Diaconu seems much more athletic than Oganov, who has no athleticism in his lower body at all. He lumbers like a 6-8 fighter, not a 5-8 fighter.
Dawson would win a decision against AD 99 times out of 100, but the question is whether he gets caught. What scares me about Dawson -- and this is coming from a Chad fan -- is that he has gotten caught and hurt (by Adamek) by guys he otherwise outclasses. That's a bad habit.
Everyone should be giving Diaconu a chance. :good
That said, most acknowledge Dawson as the favourite in this one. I'm sure the bookies will, anyway.

Diaconu has a chance. He can crack, and he has other skills that come with that. Not like Oganov.

Diaconu has certainly shown better overall skills than Oganov did last night. I would say Diaconu has a chance against Dawson, but Chad should be the favorite going in. It's certainly an interesting matchup.
Oganov looked out of his league last night against Zuniga, who is not at the top of the 168 class.

Interesting. I knew you were predicting a Diaconu KO, but I didn't realize you think it will happen that early.
George Foreman said the sport of boxing is easy if you have a good jab.
Oganov had no jab and for him it was not easy.
Got a boxing lesson and his arse kicked.

I agree. Oganov should explore other career options. He will be a punching bag for any skilled fighter, and his long-term health could suffer in a major way as a result.

No jab, no defense, no feet. No chance.
I don't mean to sound harsh, but it's going to be tough sledding for him at the level of the sport where he would make money. He seems like a nice and humble guy, so hopefully he will take a long look at his career.

Thats mid rounds. I could be wrong, maybe he will pull it off in round 10. Maybe he won't pull it off at all. We will see.

I understand, and I know 6-8 isn't early the same way 1-3 is early. But I view Diaconu needing to break down Chad to have a good chance, as I think Chad's reflexes and movement will be decisive 1-8. It's the late rounds where I think Dawson might be vulnerable.
But punchers being what they are, you never know!

Oganov looked real bad.
I dont like to kick a man when he is down but man if there ever was an appropiate time to use the term "exposed" it is right now.
Oganov other than throwing short hard chopping punches does absolutly NOTHING in the ring.No latteral movement,no bobbing and weaving,he cant cut the ring off for shit he just follows his opponent around while eating punches,he has NO JAB,he doesnt even set up his punches instead he just wings power punches,he cant hit you unless you are basically forehead to forehead.
If he can get dominated and KO'd by Zuniga he has no hope of ever getting a title shot.

I think Diaconu will surprise many in this fight, most of them probably have not seen him fight much, if at all. I agree Dawson is a very skilled fighter but i can see Diaconu getting inside and hurting him often, he is a very strong aggressive fighter, i see him breaking him down to the body over the first few rounds drawing dawson into his fight. when he starts landing to the head its only a matter of time. I'm agreeing with the poster with the andyzOr, Diaconu KO7.

I was going to bring up this exact point. The Dawson-Diaconu will be a replay of the Oganov fight but 2x worse.

Two times worse, because Diaconu is overrated, Dawson is underrated, or both?

Sure...but will Diaconu fight with pluck and aggression? Will he go for it? Will he fight positively, to win? Will he take risks? What do you predict?

He will fight like he always does go for the KO. But he will be fustrated by Dawson's movement, speed and boxing skills the difference in class will be clear.

No...he will fight better than he has before, but with as much gusto! The effect depends mostly on how good Dawson is on the night! But let me say this - if he fights positively, aggressively, to win, giving his all, and coming out of the fight proud of hit attitude and what he has achieved, I will be very happy for him...even if he loses.
And I will be happy for Dawson because he managed to get over a difficult hurdle with brio!
Good for boxing too, such a fight, no?

If he has, and sharks always do!;) ...then that is preferable to the usual insipid alternatives...
