Nigel Benn has to be on your list. In his early "Dark Destroyer" days he was about as aggressive as they come. Hamed wasn't actually that aggressive, he was more of a taunting counter puncher.

Tyson, Dempsy, Julian Jackson, all 3 of them wanted to take you out as soon as the bell rang. Thats part of whats missing in boxing the fighters who come out looking to put you in a coma with every punch, there is no animals like that anymore.

They keep getting knocked out themselves by guys who catch them coming in too aggressive. That kind of put a sieze to that style of fighting..lol

That kind of put a sieze to that style of fighting..lol Yeah a good boxer will always beat them, but thats what boxing needs right now a fighter who comes in looking to kill his oppenent. I myself appreciate boxing for what it is but were losing fans of the sport to the likes of ufc, people want to see blood and knockouts its always been that way. Thats why fighters like Chris Bryd dont get props, he was a true boxer who would hit and not get hit but people didnt want to see that so he changed his style in the gollota,Mccline, and wlad fights and payed for it.

terry norris on the other hand is the very word of aggresion always pissed off always wanting to kill you always saying your a pussy and then not touching gloves..he was there to fight nd kick ass and humiliate him look wat he did against mugabi

Most of the fights I seen of his he was very aggressive and always gave the fans what they were looking for, usually a devastating 1st round ko.

Jake LaMotta is the most purely aggressive boxer i've seen. I saw him take a sort of side step in his last outing against Sugar but I don't know about a backwards step, ever.

Dick Tiger

Though you have a good list overall i'd have to disagree with Tiger. He wasn't nearly aggressive ENOUGH in my view, his fatal flaw. He was always coming forward, true, but often outthought himself, or tried to overset - thirty-forty years later i'm screaming at the tv for him to throw punches at certain times. He didn't punche enough, he needed to take a page out of the Marciano/LaMotta book and hit arms more.

Jackson was very aggressive, watch his fight with McCallum.yes he was aggresive every boxer has to be it's part of the game, but he wasnt the most aggresive.he was by no means an aggresive person he was there to ko guys but he didnt throw alot of punches he just timed the punches to knock the other guy out while backing them up.

look at floyd patterson he throws loads of punches hits hard and tries for the knock out but he is not an aggresive fighter.

i just read what i wrote and it might not make sense but...pah :patsch

Adrian Diaconu could be this guy if he comes out and steamrolls Dawson.

In recent historical times, Benn and Jackson top my list.

The Prince wasn't all that aggressive. Hagler could be aggressive (Hearns fight) and attack but it wasn't his usual style. Norris could box and use movement, but his instinct was to brawl. Chavez was great at applying intelligent pressure, although he had respectable boxing skills too.

When I think of aggression, I think of guys who are usually coming forward and applying pressure, so I think more about guys like Frazier and Pryor.
