Over four Thursday nights in July some of Australia's elite boxers will fight it out at exclusive venues in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra with all fights to be televised LIVE on ONE HD.

The Superboxer series will include fighters such as Sam Soliman who is well known to all, fighting Anthony Mundine on three occasions, the first time losing controversially in what many believe should have been Mundines first loss; former IBO super featherweight champion, Billy "the kid" Dib; along with John "Hoppa" Hopoate who will fight in what will be his first fight since losing a world title fight to Oliver McCall.
Female boxer Erin McGowan will also feature highly in the series. McGowan has a record of 9 - 0 with 7 knock outs and is currently ranked No.10 in the world in the WBA womens rankings.
International fighters include Kenichi "Machinegun" Yamaguchi and Osumana Adama.
The events will be hosted by ONE commentator Greg Rust and renowned boxing personality Johnny Lewis along with commentators Paul Kent, Matt Brooks and Daryl Beattie.
ONE program manager Gus Seebeck said the acquisition of the Superboxer series was a coup for the new channel and was sure to attract a passionate audience.
"Elite boxing has long been part of the Australian sporting landscape and further broadens the content offering on ONE.
"The return of professional boxing on free-to-air television will be welcomed not just by dedicated boxing fans, but also through the high calibre of this event, general sports lovers as well."

Hopefully Ch 10 really stick with this and develop some names. Having guys like Sam Soliman and Bob Mirovic is cool, but I would really like to see the younger fighters get a go.

Billy Dib
Lenny Zappa
Willie Kickett

Start them out on Ch 10, let the fans see them and they will gain a following. Think for the future. Hopefully Ch 10 can also get some international cards as they did with Klitschko V Thompson. I mean how great would it be to be watching HBO fights on Channel 10? Even the smaller cards would be great such as Berto V Collazo and cards from the UK like Amir Khans upcoming title fight.

All those cards look pretty strong, but if i were being honest the july 16th card is the worst by some margin.

I was down testing Tim Bell on the weekend and have to say it's the best shape I've seen him in. We all know that there are many that are technically better than him but it's his heart that gets him through. I'll be keen to see how much he lifts with a better fight prep.

Agreed, and the venue for that card is kind of 'interesting' too.

The other Melbourne venue, The State Netball centre, should suit well as a boxing venue. Seats around 3,500 and there's not a bad seat in the place. The TV and media facilities are already in place for the netball telecasts. It was recently used for a John Wayne Parr kick-box card.

This is excellent news. I like that it may open up boxing to a much wider audience. Ozzie boxing will be the winner in this.

Is having a High definition digital set top box all you need in order to get this if you live in NSW?

Awesome cards so far. Those four put most of what you get on Foxtel in Australia to shame. Unless something tragic happens in one of the cards this can only be good for Australian boxing.

Saw Pauly Flemings last fight against a very tough and fit Flash Villacura, he has a heap of talent and puts his combos together sweet as a nut. As he progress's further I think he will really be one 2 watch
