( formerly drvooh ):hi:I don't/ can't rate chins.

Sometimes a guy goes 12 rounds with a banger in his next fight he'll get KO'd by an average punchers. Hard thing to rate but his is just dumb.

A good example is Mundine. Goes 12 with Echols, Green and Kessler buts gets knocked out cold by Ottke... :huh

Listing Jermain Taylor is crazy.

There's a REASON he's been fighting only light-hitters moving up from lower weight classes ever since Hopkins, who's not exactly known for his bone-crunching power, rocked him.

Overall, the list is pretty good, although as usual, I disagree with Jones' high placement. Move Jones to the lower half and move up guys like Litzau, Codrington, Rahman, etc. and you've got it.

Nice to see Fraudley in the Number One spot, though - there's isn't a more deserving candidate in all of boxing!

i hate when everyone rates "chin". esp. when everyone this punk put on his list knocks him out cold in one round.

Judah doesn't belong in the top 10, guys like Delvin Rod, Jaidon Codrington, Fraudley, Litzau and Bautista could not take some of the shots and beatings Judah has weathered.

Bautista is a top 5, without a doubt. Khan has yet to be cracked, but I don't mind him being ranked.

It's disgraceful to list Jones as #2 and Bautista at #8, I'll put it that way.

Jones has been brutally KOed TWICE, and is now afraid to take ANY kind of punch because his chin is so terrible. How many times has Bautista been completely knocked out?

C'mon, Zak, let's be honest. The kid can take a shot. A truly glass jaw will get crumbled by any type of puncher, one from a lower weight class, one from a higher weight class, it doesn't matter. If one has to meet a devastating puncher in order to be put on the canvas that does not mean he has a glass jaw. Right now discontent with a fighter appears to be treading into reason's territory. Don't allow it to do so.

Yep. After the boxer has been knocked the fuck out three times by a jab, then Zakman will call it :good

Anyway, this list is stupid. I don't understand what the criteria is, because obviously these aren't the ten worst chins in boxing. Is it the ten worst chins of popular boxers or something? Or just ones who you have seen recently?

Who's got the best chin you've seen?
Since I've been following boxing I would probably have to say Ali. Even though he was at the tail end of his career, he STILL had a great beard. Of course Marvin Hagler would be another. I'd say Chuvalo, but he was pretty much done by the time I got into boxing.

More recently, I'd have to give the nod to guys like David Tua and Ray Mercer. Holyfield, of course, is another one with an iron chin.

Peter and Valuev have good chins right now.

good list, you got most of the usual suspects. but imo wlad is a bit high on the list, his chin is much better than what it's given credit for. it's definately better than bautista's chin, who i'd put in the top 5 from what i've seen of him. he was dropped hard, and was hurt bad by a journeyman on telefutura, but was able to beat the count and was saved by the bell. almost got stopped by medina, but was rescued by a standing 8. to cap it all off he was destroyed by ponce de leon in the 1st. though i still think he can at least win a minor strap if he works on his defence. aside from getting ktfo by tzsyu, zab's chin has not failed him since then, so he's off the list. i'd probably put kendall holt in his place. rjj has'nt been dropped lately by badju or hanshaw, but he does'nt like to get hit so he's probably on the lower tier of the top 10. if tito starches him then its back to the top 3 for him. aside from the green fight i have'nt seen any of jaidon codrington's latest outings so i can't make an assesment of him. taylor has'nt been ko'ed, so he does'nt deserve a spot on the list, maybe mike anchondo or someone else can be put in his place. khan almost got starched by limond(class guy for posting here btw) so him being on the list is somewhat fair, as it's just a matter of time before some one smashes that jaw to pieces.

Tex Cobb also, though he was not a very good fighter.

Tex Cobb also, though he was not a very good fighter.

Y'know the interesting thing about Cobb - he showed an iron chin when fighting contenders, and yet, late in his career, some tomato can starched him in a round.

Some guys with iron chins keep their punch resistance as they age, others lose it. And, of course, some fighters - like those in your list - never had it to begin with!!:yep
