Never saw this one before. Monzon looks to be in bad shape, reeling?

Was this from the second match Monzon dominated or the original where Briscoe and many others felt he deserved the nod?

Does anyone know the actual round? I've heard Briscoe stunned Monzon pretty badly in their second fight in between Monzon really handling Bennie.

It was the 9th round if I remember correctly.

The photo is from the second fight...the rematch for Monzon's title, and it's the 9th round. Monzon proved he had a world class chin in that round, just as he did in the Valdez rematch.

Great Photo with two of the baddest men ever.

I wouldnt be surprised if it was some low blow that made Carlos act that way.

I wouldnt be surprised if it was some low blow that made Carlos act that way.No, it was from a bomb thrown by Briscoe. Monzon rode it out, and nearly decked Bennie in the 13th.

After seeing a Briscoe managing to hurt Monzon probably as badly as anyone ever did, does anyone really feel he doesn't belong among the Ring's Top 100 punchers of all time list?

he probably would but he dosnet have the same aggresion or power of Bennie
