Maybe it was his knack for interviewing trainers while their fighters were getting KO'd, maybe it was the fact that he never aged a day, but he got the heave and ho out of the broadcast booth.
Me, I liked him. Better than Kellerman anyday.

Didn't he do commentary for a while? He wasn't that good at it so he probably got fired. I remember that time he did commentary for the second Gonzalez fight or maybe it was the third but he upset his partner, that chic hearn sound alike and I remember he once said mancini takes a good punch for an Italian.
He also offended hector Camacho visibly after his magnificent kayo victory over Leonard and drove him off leaving Sean standing there talking to himself.

Actually I think the last time I have seen Sean was the Moorer/Jirov fight a couple years ago I think it was.

Sean O'Grady sucked as an announcer. He mis-read the action worse than Jim Lampley. His insights were about as deep as Yoel Judah's corner advice. He repeated the same stuff every week more than Teddy Atlas. And his interviews were as awkward as Jim Grey's... even though he only stuck to questions like, "how did you feel going into the tenth round?".
But he did sound and look good.

Believe he is working for FSN right now, on the few shows they actually put out there, but I want to say he's still there.

Sean was good with Al Albert on USA fights. He still does PPV telecasts once in a while. Im kind of suprised Showtime didnt pick him up to work with Steve.

He was one of the most protected fighters ever but he was fun to watch as an announcer, He was a cornball tho. He was fighting in OKC back when I lived there.

I like Sean O'Grady better than Kellerman or Teddy Atlas. I don't hate Teddy either, but I do despise Kellerman.

Sean and Teddy Atlas would be nice.
Their styles probably would work together better than either of them did previously. Good point.

Hell, I'd in a heartbeat trade Teddy Atlas for Sean O'Grady.

I remember when he had the bright idea to try to intreview boxers in between rounds. I don't remember which fight it was but one trainer almost drop kicked him

I liked O'Grady as an announcer. Half the shit he said was stupid, but he had a certain cornball charm. He was sort of the anti-Merchant. Whereas Larry would look at a combo and call it a "scintillating fusillade of leather", Sean would just go "Kaa-boom!"
Would have liked to see them work together.
You've captured the "O'Grady experience" perfectly! Sean was certainly not the best commentator, but even with his flaws, he brought far more to a broadcast than that annoying punk Max Kellerman.:yep

I thought he was an asshole just based on him bugging trainers and fighters between rounds. Shouldve gotten his ass kicked for doing that. Plus, an ex fighter should know better.

That was the network's idea.
