I am sure this will get a lot of hate but JC admits he would come back for a one off fight for 10 million but as with the way he phrased he knows that isn't going to realistically happen.

Top guys who could fight him: Carl Froch, Bernard Hopkins, Chad Dawson couldn't earn him that kind of money I don't think. Froch possibly if he went on to beat all the aformentioned fighters and Pavlik/Kesseler but if that happens I'll give 10 million to Joe to fight Froch myself! Even then tho, we would be frothing at the mouth over such a fight (Brits I mean) but I don't know that we would do enough PPV numbers on our lonesome and gather enough interest from everyone else to make it happen, plus time, by the time Froch did all that he'd be looking at retirement himself, let alone Joe.

Theres not a fight out there that would get Calzaghe anywhere near £10m.

You can tell he's joking. He knows he's not going to get offered that. It's the same with Lennox, he keeps saying he'll come back if offered £100m.

I think if there was a legitimate contender then Calzaghe would come out of retirement imo.. Hes been there and done it with Hopkins, Dawson shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breathas Joe and unless Froch can increase his reputation by beating maybe a Pavlik or even Dawson then maybe just maybe Mighty Joe might be tempted but I think time is running out on a Calzaghe comeback.

He's having a laugh and chancing it.. just like Lewis. Neither will come out of retirement i think

Well, what did Hatton earn from Sky Box Office alone against Pac-man?

Is it possible Calzaghe could earn half as much from his own Sky Box Office comeback fight?

That would be a fair wedge of cash, I'd imagine.

If Chad Dawson becomes big maybe...

I hope he doesn't come back. People are starting to forget about him now and if he comes back we'll get all those ridiculous posts about how he'd beat a prime Jones and Hopkins, etc.

Stay retired Joe!

Calzaghes never really been a PPV fighter in the UK.

Carl Froch - Calzaghe could draw 15Mil I reckon with correct promotion. If froch allowed Calzaghe to take a big share then maybe it could become a reality. personally I think it won't happen/

I think Froch would have to beat either Hopkins or Kessler impressively before a fight with Calzaghes would get to the point where it would make anywhere near the money JC says he wants.

Can't see anybody out there making a big enough combined purse for Calzaghe to take 10 mill. They'd be extremely lucky to get 10 mill between them considering Calzaghe got nowhere close to that against a big American name like Roy Jones.

With the current state of the economy, I don't see £15m being realistic.
Only big big names and fighters with a bit of a background, Tysons, Hamed, Mayweather, Manny Pac and Hatton are anywhere near this.
Calzaghe has never been a huge draw.

Don't think there are fighters around his weight class that can command that. Who knows what will happen if Froch beats Bute, Pavlik and Kessler?!?!?!?

10 mil is a bit much for Joe.

I'm not campaigning for Calzaghe here but I always though he could do good numbers on Sky Box Office. I mean, the guy was Sports Personality of the Year, you can't tell me Sky wouldn't hype the shit out his comeback fight.

I think he would take less than 10 million if the fight was right. If 6 or 7 million was waved in front of him i dont think he would say no. The fight would need to be in the next year and a half against a big draw so this wont be happening.

he got 10 million dollars (whats that about £7 mill) vs RJJ and it was calzaghe's biggest career purse

I hope that laughter doesn't imply Joe's got no personality. :nono

'Cos the guy is a bundle of charisma as far as I'm concerned.

Calzaghe will have earned his place in the HOF and he's earned steady paydays and a few cash outs near the end.

But he won't get that much surely, very very doubtful as he didn't become a big name until the end, and his performances were somewhat careless and ugly.

Joe is NOT a superstar. Not charismatic enough, not hard hitting enough (no power), too low a profile. If he wanted to be a draw, he should have spent the first 85% of his title reign being more ambitious in terms of comp and PR.

Why would anyone want him back bad enough to cough all that money up, during a recession? Joe took the money and ran, one of the guys who helped hurt boxing. This is a bad time for fighters who want to get wrapped in cotton wool and paid highly.

Calzaghe never wanted to be a superstar or famous. Those are the kind of boxers who get this kind of money. Calzaghe was the one who chose to spurn the PR route over the course of his career and will reap what he sowed. He'll be lucky to be offered £5M nowadays with the UK TV stations either pulling out of boxing or going bust.

Something tells me that Calzaghe is missing boxing a bit.

Unless someone unify's the divisions (light heavy or super middle) or becomes a massive celebrity, Calzaghe aint coming out of retirement

He would take £5 million to fight froch

he is already making nosies to comeback

the guy is bored

he is doing dancing on stars for fucks sakes

I think after a long needed rest - he will return

right now he is enjoying "retirement"

he is eating food

and sipping fine wine

spending time with "Connor" - that little gimp in the Wii adverts with him

and is probaly enjoying some good blow jobs off his missus with her blow job lips

but he is going to be well rested and "return" for one last - "quest"

like Mayweather has

Calzaghe's got a ego

and still alot left in the tank

most boxers only finally go once they get the message drilled into them

but Calzaghe still got alot left to offer

the only way I can see him not returning - is if he is to scared of tarnishing that "perfect" record.

Dancing on Stars will never fufill Calzaghes ego and drive for glory and accomplishment like boxing will

He retired too early

Now I know some might say

He is 37 years old - he was getting old

Yes

However

He still has alot left in the tank

In his last 2 fights - he had the most high profile of his career

Hopkins and Jones

and won them both

and then you just walk away -

on a high maybe

yes

but it just seems a strange time to walk away -when Ameirca was now cracked

he could have had another few biig fights and in America

Hopkins rematch

Dawson

or even Froch in Britain

it just seems his retirement was abrupt

like he had not come to the end of the road really

just thought now it was sensible to retire

but inside - if the fire is still there - its still there

and after a long rest - which he probaly needed and wanted

I think he will still feel he has something left inside to fight again

When I read these posts, I imagine the guy who does those movie trailers saying it. Like it's more dramatic.

In a world...

Where one mans quest carries an entire nation's hopes and dreams...

Other heros fell by the wayside...

Others got a saw back...

But one man's desire still remains....

That man....

Is Joe Calzaghe.
