The Contender: Season Three
launches new episodes tonight!
ESPN 10PM ET/7PM PT -- DON'T MISS IT
The third season of "The Contender" will premiere tonight on ESPN at 10PM ET/7PM PT. Boxing legend and six-time world champion Sugar Ray Leonard will return as host and mentor, guiding the boxers through the most intense training of their careers and the most challenging experience of their lives. The third season of The Contender will also feature several enhancements including a different weight class (super middleweight), special guests Oscar de la Hoya and Adam Corolla and more. The total purse this season is raised to $1 million (a 50% increase from last season) and for the first time, boxing fans will be able to see the entire fight each week on ESPN2. Joining the show this season are world class trainers James "Buddy" McGirt, a two-time welterweight world champion, and Jose "Pepe" Correa. The sixteen boxers for season three are in alphabetical order: Max Alexander (14-1, 2 KOs), David Banks (14-2-1, 2 KOs), Saiko Bika (22-3-2, 14 KOs), Henry Buchanan (14-1, 11 KOs), La Farrell Bunting (16-3-1, 16 KOs), Jaidon Codrington (16-1, 12 KOs), Miguel Hernandez (20-5, 10 KOs), Wayne Johnsen (16-1, 9 KOs), Donny McCrary (23-5-2, 13 KOs), Les Ralston (16-2, 9 KOs), Danny Santiago (29-3-1, 19 KOs), Paul Smith (20-0, 12 KOs), Sam Soliman (33-9, 13 KOs), Brian Vera (14-0, 9 KOs), Rhoshii Wells (18-2-2, 10 KOs) and Rubin Williams (29-2-1, 16 KOs).

But I don't understand if the show itself is on ESPN then when is the fight going to be shown on ESPN 2??

Anyway I can't wait for tonight.

Looks like it's improving for the better... I think they should go with more younger guys/prospects, but they have a few "names" this year so that is good. It would be great if one of these guys would become a champ one day though...Well 11 of the 16 fighters are under 30 years old.

Good - I got tired of seeing just pieces and bits from the fights. This time we'll see the whole things. They just keep getting better - which is good - cause it shows growth. ESPN and Sugar Ray, plus his Contender Team are donig a pretty good job with this - since taking it from Sly and them.
