What is the classic forum's opinions on the former Light Flyweight champion of the world. I just watched his first fight Humberto Gonzalez again, and he seemed to possess fast hands, and good power. He was also very accurate, practically finding the target every time he started to hook at Gonzalez. Great fight, and a great fighter.
Opinions?

A good little fighter...A great of his division you could say. Also brought some T.V attention to the lighter weights, which probably paved the way for guys like Calderon, Lopez et al to make some half decent coin.
Doesnt impress me as much as Lopez, Chang, Zapata or Gushiken etc..but still very good.

Good exciting fighter, very tough, tremendous puncher. Had an impressive run for about a year or so, when he KO'd Gonzales and followed with a couple of solid defenses. His defense was always a liability, and he wore out relatively fast from all the punishment he took, but he managed to win titles twice after that. He looked like he might've run out of gas when he was busted up and stopped by Baby Jake Matlala on a huge upset, but he came back a few years later and scored a big upset of his own when he came from behind to KO an up-and-coming Jorge Arce.

I agree, he had too many limitations and wore out too fast to be considered among the very best around that weight, but he was accomplished enough to prove he was a legit good fighter, and his power would've made him a threat to just about anyway.
