A good boxer will take out an MMA fighter with one shot. I knew that Mercer would stop Sylvia with the first clean punch because they are at a different level in terms of striking ability.

K1 is a perfect fit for boxers who might not be top level, but can still pack a punch. Even a contender level fighter is going to be able to do some major damage in a scenario with no possibility of ground fighting as long as they're not totally shot. Briggs should seriously think about sticking around at K1 for awhile. The shorter fights are perfect for his stamina, too.

Just for clarity's sake, the fighter in this video - Tom Erickson - is a primarily a wrestler. This is a boxer vs wrestler match under K1 kickboxing rules.

Yeah, tom erikson is no striker. Put him in there with Ernesto Hoost. Wait, Hoost got beat by bob sapp.

Tom Erickson is not a K1 fighter though. (in other words , not a kickboxer).

So Briggs fought another "mma fighter" , under K1 rules. Erickson had no chance to shoot for Briggs' legs (for a take down). If you give him the chance to...he wouldn't try to outstrike Briggs.

He's a wrestler. nothing more.

That's what Sylvia should've done with Mercer...(even Kimbo slice did it against Mercer)...But Sylvia is a fucking moron.
