I dont follow the sport to much myself. I hear what you are sayn. It is bad for mma. I myself study Kempo. I never really considered mma to have great fighters anyway.

Plus, Sylvia was a top champ, what, 2 years ago? Ray Mercer is damn near 50 fucking years old and hadn't fought for a world title since the early nineties!

I am primarily a boxing fan, but I like SOME mma. Guys like Georges St Pierre and Anderson Silva are really quite impressive and don't deserve the slagging off MMA gets for the typically scrappy engagements. As for the Mercer win the fight was originally supposed to be a boxing match, but it wasn't sanctioned so it had to be changed to MMA rules, Tim Sylvia was pursuing a career in boxing and wanted to use the bout as a stepping stone and I believe that they had something of a gentlemans agreement to stand up and box insteading of going to the ground and kicking etc. Nonetheless.. it was fun to watch Mercer knock that big oaf out.

kimbo used his youth, speed and strenght against mercer and mma nuthuggers go on as though this shows how a bum from mma can beat a boxer in mma anyday, the guy was about 4 stone overweight and 46 years old when kimbo beat his ass yet kimbo was still too scared to stand and trade with mercer

WRONG!!! Mercer was submitted by a choke hold. Kimbo said he would stand and fistfight as he had in all his youtube backyard fights but went straight for the takedown while Ray expected a boxing match.

Mercer needs to rematch Kimbo and beat his ass. Losing to Kimbo like that was/is disgraceful. He needs to right that terrible wrong! A guy who hung tough against Lewis, Holyfield, Morrison, etc getting taken down and out by Kimbo Slice? That goes against all that is good and pure in the world!
