I'd favour all of them over Cotto, though i think this is the level of Welter he should be matched against for interesting fights.

Interestingly enough i think it's McCrory and Jones that have become slightly underrated, whereas Honeyghan was a waste of talent that didn't maintain his form for long at all once he hit world level.

Cotto rides Jones' left hook and stops him on cuts late in an extremely entertaining battle.

He beats McCrory in a close points win.

He beats Honeyghan on points in an extremely entertaining battle. Although with The Ragamuffin Man really showed up he might be able to sustain the kinda' pressure that makes Cotto capitulate (right word? sounds right lol)

Of course we are yet to know whether anything other than concrete gloves can really take Miguel down and out; Torres had him all over the place and is a solid puncher at 140. Consider Cotto was also weight drained and that he came back to win shows his toughness. At Welter he is a different prospect, but also a different fighter.

I think his more boxing orientated style nowadays helps him out more against these three (except Milton)

I like his chances against Jones...But Jones had that sort of power I could see taking the wind out of Miguel's sails later on..He probably wins most rounds but has some really hairy moments like in Torres & Corley.

I slightly favour Milton here..I was just watching his fight with McCallum the other day..And man did he soak up some wicked punishment on his way out. He was with Mike for a lot of those early rounds and wasnt to far behind at the time of the stoppage. Though he took 8 rounds worth of beating in those last 2 rounds.
A little to much is made of the Curry KO...not many fighters could do that to him because not many were as good as Prime Don, certainly not Cotto. And I think if Milton could hang with something like a prime McCallum, then I see him outlasting Miguel and taking a decision.

Lloyd at his best beats him, I could see him stopping Miguel once the pace takes it toll on him somewhere around 8th-10th rounds...if anything less turns up then I probably say Miguel could at least edge it, if not win in impressive fashion himself.

Really good matchups...at this stage these are definitely the level of fighters he can be fairly matched against.

i think jones has a real chance of beating cotto tko but not sure
mcrory if he could stick to boxing could get the decision
honeyghan is underated and would stop cotto ,but all good fights and apart from honeyghan could easily go cottos way.just an opinion
