after shadow boxing with weights going full force, my back had a little pain in it...so i couldnt punch so i rested.... after a week it started to get excruciating (woulnt even be able to lie up in my bed) can you tell me what you think happened? pulled muscle? bone related?
im not sure but i think it happened after i did a left body hook while shadowboxing.
thx

maybe pulled something, worked the muscles too much causing back spasms or cramping of the muscles. i was actually having the same problem this morning. try to just stretch out ur back muslces and also ur neck muscles because they go arm in arm. if u don't know how to stretch out ur back muslces just let me know and i'll try to explain as best as i can

You probably went past your limit with the weights while shadowboxing and put to much strain on your back. This tends to happen when punching with weights when they are heavier then what you really should be using, because then to help deal with the extra weight that the upper body can't handle you use your lower back to compensate.
As far as the injury is concerned it is most likely a injury in the Lumbar region of the spine, I've had this before but for a different reason. You should probably visit a doctor to check it, if it doesn't get any better within the next week.

You shouldn't do shadow boxing at full power while holding weights.

That and you shouldnt use weights over 1-2.5 pounds anyway.

I've had the same problem after training, mostly after being on the heavy bag from what i can tell. It's a pain in my mid back on the left side, hurts to take deep breaths...
