good for Kimbo, UFC and the MMA fans, Kimbo is not the joke he was when he started, if he works on his conditioning he could win the show.

Yea if a bunch of pansy fighters are in the house with him.

Bas Rutten gave up on him because he was an egomaniac and thought he didn't need to listen to training so what has he done to make you think he has gotten better? NOT training or listening to trainers is NOT gonna make you a better fighter.

Who are the coaches?

I dont get TUF. How can you have a UFC veteran like Wes Sims on the show? TUF generally features up coming prospects but you have one of Hammerhouse's best wrestlers on there?

Kimbo gets too much hatred. He is a big guy with some talent. He's clearly trying to improve. He isn't Brock Lesnar but he ain't a total bum.

The same Wes Sims that fought and got KOed by Mir?

Who else of note is on the new season?

Vitor Belfort

I hope he trained a lot of takedown defense cuz i can see the heavyweights taking him down right away. I dont think they want to strike with this dude. Anyways i hope he makes it in the house so we can see some interesting fights. By the way who are the coaches?

Who else of note is on the new season? So he got KO'ed by Mir in there rematch? Big deal? Did you see how he was owning Mir in there first bout until he was DQ'ed for stomping him. Matters not a jot. Wes is a solid MMA veteran who was good enough to grace UFC shows before. Despite being a veteran he's on a show that features up and coming prospects. Pretty stupid idea if you ask me.

Don't be so sure about HW NOT wanting to stand with Kimbo. Everyone seen a small LHW KO Kimbo, so I doubt everyone will be scared to stand with him. Of course we don't know who the other fighters are yet.

So Kimbo obviously won his fight to get INTO the house, or is that something we all just assume? Wouldn't that be funny if he lost and never even made it into the house?

I didn't mean that as a bad thing it was just thats the first thing I thought of when thinking of him.

Just wondering if that was the guy.

A guy I knew in high school and played football with is also on the show.

As for Sims, I suspect the whole point of him being on there is for him to get beat to show how the new young fighters are better than the older guys. Kind of like they did with Mikey Burnett. I bet the really don't expect him to win, but he's a huge guy and they like the spectacle.

They should put Ray Mercer and Tim Sylvia on there as well. It would be an awesome season. Arlovski too.

If Sylvia gets his head right he is still a dangerous fighter, he would murderise the house 1 by 1.

That is actually a really good idea.

Watching Kimbo makes me fear for my personal safety. I don't even feel safe watching clips of him on the internet in the comfort of my own home! Kimbo is the stereotypical big black negro thug lurking in every white man's hallway at 2: o'clock in the morning!

thats a typical UFC fanboy statement, i bet your one of those people who start making weird hand signals to the camera at UFC events whilst shouting woo hoo

as limited as kimbo is he is from the streets and he is cool in my eyes, however if i see him lurking in my hallway at two in the morning im getting my samurai sword on that one

This could be really good for the shows ratings I never watched TUF but I'm definately going to check it out this year because it will be interesting to see if Kimbo gets to compete in the UFC it was a good idea to have heavyweights I hope we get to see Kimbo against a real mixed martial artist and see how he looks after that devistating loss

Dana knows this thats why he was running his mouth when Kimbo was in EliteXC. But hey he gets the best of both worlds here. Kimbo for free and a whole load of GREAT PR for his organisation. His a promoter first a fan a distant second.

I agree with you I dont think he can compete on the level of the elites like a Frank Mir or a Mirko FIllopovic but it will make for interesting television. I think Kimbo has a lot to prove and a lot to work on before he thinks of fighting top tier fighters in the UFC or even getting an opportunity to fight in the UFC but Dana White made a good decision to bring in Kimbo its the best way to promote the UFC heavyweight division and a good way to pretty much expose Kimbo Slice

How is it so clear to you?

Cos he didn't come into MMA and just start punching or having some mindless street fight. He was trained by a quality fighter in Rutten and in his fights it is clear he has a number of dimensions. He did what a former UFC champ didn't. Even now, he hasn't just quit or try and make some money off his name. He has thrown himself into the toughest organisation at the moment - the UFC.

This is how it is so clear.

Kimbo has a very real chance at making it to the UFC now. He doesn't have to win TUF to make it. He has to look marketable. Kimbo may not be the real deal as an mma prospect, buy Kimbo is a real athlete. He will have impressive training footage. Rumor has it that he'll be on until the middle of the show before he has to fight. If they're going to this much trouble to keep him around, I bet he gets matched with the easiest foe possible when he does fight.

I'm willing to bet that finalist or not, Kimbo Slice fights at the TUF finale.

As thats clearly not the case when he's willing to allow a guy like Kimbo into his organisation. Even if Kimbo does make it he'll get smoked. Dana knows that. This is nothing more than a PR gamble.

Every sport needs contestants for the contenders and the elite to emerge from. Kimbo Slice defeated Tank Abbott convincingly and Carl Thompson controversially. That carves out a certain placement for him. Abbott and Thompson are still getting fights, because new fighters need someone that isn't considered to be one of the world's best to compete against and emerge from. Lesnar may not ever have to worry about fighting Kimbo Slice, but he may have to worry about someone that defeats Kimbo.

Kimbo getting on TUF and maybe fighting in the UFC are not unethical practices by a promotional company. This is nowhere near putting Kimbo on prime time television, and trying to establish him as the face of mma.

This is about economics nothing more or less. Lets not try to kid ourselves otherwise. Fact is Kimbo is a nobody but Dana changed his stance because he realised his organisation could make some nice money of him. Surprise surprise.
