FUCKKKK NO...he did not have better defense...:patsch:roll: Man these dickheads dont give credit when it is in due time.....Floyd has every aspect of defense mastered hands down from rolling punches to using gloves to even turning with body shots and can fight using mutiple styles of defense and change up at will...get a grip....It was hard to hit Benitez clean...but it is hard to hit fucking floyd at all....:-(:-(:-(

Benitez defense, in his prime, was the best in boxing hystory, his nickname was "The Radar" because he can see every punch coming to him and avoid it. Floyd had never faced someone with better defense than him and that's Benitez.

You have them confused, guys like Whitaker and Benitez were the ones who completely avoided and slipped punches, Floyd is the one who rolls them, so doesn't take the full force of them ,but gets hit a lot, just not clean. Benitez had better movement and was slicker to avoid punches, similar to Whitaker, cept he moved more than Pea.

It is always cool to say that the past guys were better. It makes you seem more knowledgable. I hate that. Benitez was a great fighter, a master boxer with one of the best defences all time. As much as I want PBF to lose every fight (I root against him) Floyd is one of the greatest. ANd I am afraid, when it is all said and done, Foyd will be looked at higher than Benitez. Sucks though, I dont like PBF.

This fight wont be easy. Toss up, maybe, but if I had to bet, I would bet on PBF UD.

PS I will be rooting for PBF for the first time ever on December. Dont know why, but I will.

I can't believe this is a thread this morning, for I watched Leonard-Duran I and then Benitez subsequently last night.

Immediately I started thinking about how Floyd would fare with both.

Honestly, I feel that Benitez is a better defensive boxer than Floyd, but he wouldnt press the issue enough offensively to take advantage of Floyd's rolling of punches. He sat around for too much of the bout with SRL, and I feel he might do the same with Floyd. Not to mention, I think that Floyd at 28 is better than Leonard at 24.

I think that Floyd would stil land the cleaner more effective shots throughout the bout, but man this is a very very hard fight to call.

I'd say Floyd by a very very slim margin.

This would be a very close fight with each fighters having advantages and close in their strengths.

Mayweather has better speed of hand and foot, has a more suttle defense, which is more felxible, and hes possibly more patient. Benitez is the better in fighter with more power with an excellent defense. Floyd is always making suttle adaptions and is more focused imo

I think Floyds handspeed beats Benitez to the punch forcing Benitez to come forward more allowing Floyd to counter. It would be very close but Mayweather edges it 8 rounds to 7 for me.

Wrong...not better..different...but not better...If heaven forbid floyd go completely defensive like he did with hearns..lol...floyd would not get touched as well...Hearns was able to get to the body and Ray was too..Ray was head hunting with benetiz...floyd is better at avoiding body shots..as he rolls them too against the ropes not taking full impact..floyd displays the same against the ropes routine as benetiz every single fight...When Zab landed one punch on floyd and rocked him..and had him hurt a little and could not land not one more punch through floyds guard with his blazing hand speed I knew Floyds defense is probably up there with the best if not the best all around defense. Floyd would of fought the same kind of fight with hearns...RUNNNNN..lol

you can same the same exact thing for Floyd..I personally think when Floyd losses he will lose a UD for being to inactive offensively. He didn't throw many punches against the bigger DLH. vs Hatton/Cotto/Mosley he definitely will need to increase his output. He was able to do this against DLH because DLH fought in spurts so this allowed Floyd to fight in Spurts.

Wow, what a chess match. I'd go Floyd ever so slightly at 140, and a pick'em at 147.

In his heart, I think Floyd has a little bit more there than Wilfred, although I say that knowing it can't be proven. He just seems more able to rise to the occasion, doing whatever he has to do to win.

Benitez at 5'10" and the naturally much larger man with the same set of skills would win the fight !

Floyd's style of 1 punch and out will not work against benitez !!!!!! Benitez was able to slip 10 punches in a row on the dam ROPES against TOMMY HEARNS !!!!
