Jameel McCline is in for one serious beat-down.
Jameel McCline is in for one serious beat-down.
You never know man, McCline was doing good against Valuev till the injury occured, then again Valuev sucks but Vitali has been inactive for TOO long and I expect this to be at least competitive.

You're right. But if Vitali is back to the form he was in against Lewis, Johnson and Sanders....I see this being a brutal, logsided victory. But we'll see, there are alot of questions to be answered :good

From the press conference pictures, it seems to me McCline going against Vitali, is like a big flubby seal going against a Siberian tiger. McCline put on pounds and Klitschko shed them. Let the beating begin

I think Vitali's power is even a touch better than his brother's.

If he's back to that form(doubtful after nearly 3 years of inactivity) he would stop McCline within 3 rounds.

What are the likes of Ivaylo Gotzev going to say when Vitali shows no signs of ring rust at all?
"Oh shit."

Jameel is toast. No way VitKlit would come back if was not 100%. I think this is going to be a very nasty beatdown.

To me, it looks like Vitali has lost some size, specifically in regard to his arms. Anyone else think so?

i don't think so. he never had huge arms, bigger arms would make him slower. i think he comes in at 245-250 like before the lay-off.

Good Luck!!!!
Fair trade-off, I take Hatton and you take McCline  Yeah they have "similar" chances of winning :good
you idiots realize Klitschko has been training for a full year now don't you? He was training in secret for a while before he announced his comeback. Reports are he had a "fight" in the gym a while back to truely test his body, similar to what Sugar Ray Leonard did before fighting Hagler. Vitali Klitschko is not going to fight if he is not 100%. He is going to crush that big joke McCline.

I really believe that Vitali will be the #1 heavyweight in the division soon, placing his brother below a spot.

You know what scares me the most about these photos?
The only time Vitali is smiling is when he basically has his head up his trainers ass pushing him up the hill, and when he is sitting on top of a giant chess piece.

Djakuyu Mykola!
Vitaly looks to be in great shape as always. I hope he polishes the ring rust through extensive sparring and comes into the ring as he had never retired.

I have to say if those pics are recent then I`m thinking Vitali will make very short work of McCline.

The website says that Klitschko is in last stage of his preparation for the fight on Sep. 22. So, the pictures must be very recent.
Some more pics from the Klitschko website

Not much to add to what Scar, BewareofDawg, others said earlier. Agree Vitali looks in good shape - but you never know what a fighter really has after a long layoff. McCline isn't the pushover some fans make him out to be.
Anyone have a line on the odds? I'd think Vitali is the fav, but by how much?

Go Klit! Let's win a belt.. or 2.. or 3456789+
to be honest.... anytime theres a huge "oh so and so is going to die now'' and its like a tidal wave of RIP's to the underdog... somehow... it seems to be a curse because they come and do the unthinkable.
you guys just gave me a bad feeling about this lol

Mccline is going to fight so damn scared. Vitali should pick an opponent who will try and fight back, everyone knows Mccline is going to get scared and just try and survive.

Excellent pics! Vitaly looks ready to go! He's in supreb shape.
Indeed. Vitlay looks a bit younger than 36. In fact he looks to be in prime shape condition. Sometimes older fighters look, well older when attmetping a comeback even if they are well toned. Vitali is not one of them.
Another thing, notice he is not wearing a knee brace, that is a very good sign!

The three year layoff will be beneficial as Vitaly's body has had time to rest and heal. he looks sensational and should pick up right where he left off - dominating heavyweight boxing and thrilling fight fans worldwide with his aggressive, crowd-pleasing style. Go Vitaly! By the way, that sure is some beautiful scenery there. Austria looks really pristine and has some of the most beautiful nature on the planet.
I agree. I think he'll be better than ever once he gets this first fight behind him, and gets his rust blown outta his system.
The layoff was needed, and will improve him.:good
And I don't think he's lost any off his arms. He looks as big as he ever was.

And Flabby Gut's post directly above this is dead on correct. Both Bros are a cut above everyone else, which they are about to prove.

That's 250 pounds of muscle, and not much else. :good
This guy's fights are NEVER boring, given his unique European boxing style, size, aggression, chin, and power.
McCline can take a good shot, but we'll see just how much of a shot he can take in this fight.

Mccline is going to fight so damn scared. Vitali should pick an opponent who will try and fight back, everyone knows Mccline is going to get scared and just try and survive. Mccline didnt look too scared when he was going toe to toe with Valuev, whos a pretty intimidating figure wouldnt you say. Give Mccline some credit he isnt a walk threw oppenent, which I give Vitali props for taking after almost 3 years away from the sport.

Agree with posts #53 & 54. If Vitali can get close to his prior from, the brothers have a good chance of holding all 4 belts - barring crooked politics (business) as you say.
And McCline, as I've posted myself, is not some walkover opponent. Vitali deserves credit for not taking a super safe fight after a long layoff.

The main issue for me in this fight is how Vitali looks after all this time out. He wont be as fit as he was and is bound to be rusty. The lay off may have done him some good but I doubt it. If Klitschko is confident (despite any worry of injury reaccurence) then he should batter McCline. I don't see this fight going past five or six rounds - as long as Klitschko is near his best.

Beating Mcline will prove nothing. Mcline is the biggest wuss in the heavyweight division. This will be a glorified sparring session.

Alp training should be saved for occasions like when Hopkins fought Mercado since Equadors In a very high altitude.
