Ok guys what the prediction for the John Simpson - Andy Morris fight on friday night? morris won hands down the 1st fight which i accept though most of yous have said morris was dominating the 2nd fight which i disagree with and think john will come out on top this time to prove me right.

To back it up im willing to have an aviater bet with anyone for 2weeks if anyone is willing to take me up on it? can be anything apart from personal and im sure some english geezer would be so glad to get 1 over on 1 of dunkys scottish sidekicks!!! :happy:happy:happy

Both fighters probably feel hard done by. Morris after getting cut early on in his last fight with Simpson forcing him to withdraw and Simpson after losing narrowly to Matthews.

Morris is a slick boxer and the favourite but I really hope Simpson wins.

We did try to tell the doubters that John was hurting Morris to the body in the second fight before Morris was stopped on a cut, but our advice fell on deaf ears...

Ach, that was a special performnce by Simpson, he was simply brilliant. I was well worried for Andy Morris though when he went down at the end, that stopped my celebrations in their tracks, cos I was worried that he was badly hurt & shit myself a bit.

However, glad to see Morris was OK in the end, & Im a happy chappie!

Im totally buzzing, what a great night for scottish boxing. Was great to hear Alex Arthur as co-commentator too, he was flawless. I used to have my problems with Arthur in the past cos he beat 3 of my favourite glasgow lads, Limond Docherty & Burns, but Im starting to adore him like I did Scotty now, as hes such a patriotic scotsman, as he proved tonight. I hope AAA becomes regular fixture on Setanta, cos hes an intelligent well spoken lad.

Im going to get nasty about a certain writer who was slagging Victor Hugo & I off from the safety of another forum & in his column for us daring to argue with him about the outcome of this fight(you know who you are), When will these so called writers ever learn that british ESB is a bearpit, & if you arent up to standard you will be torn apart. Like he just has been.

But thats for another day. Tonight Im too happy to be sticking the boot in, Im drunk & happy is what Im gonna stay:D

Good performance by Simpson. He's come on loads in the past year and I was surprised by how harder he is hitting these days.

His big shots were right on the button and the knockdown shots were clean as a whistle. Credit to him for getting his timing spot-on. It shows that his run of tough fights has boosted Simpson fight-by-fight and he's more than ready for a return match with Matthews.

I thought the first and second Simpson-Morris fights painted a different story but John must have out his hours in at the gym as well as responding strongly to the tough bout with Matthews.

Devastating KO and good to see John speak well about Andy in the inteview and post-fight.


john was always going to speak well about andy he aint cocky n a show off. andys mouth was way far too big for him and he got it shut up lastnight! soo proud of john n proves to everyone who is the better fighter!

He also knew of the previous fights that it had to be a clear win n couldnt leave it up to the judges decisions as he would have probs been robbed again because of were the fight was held.. he was told n he listened n im just sooo proud of him!! he knew wat he had to do n its now done! felt kinda sorry for morris in the end tho i felt more for his family n not him coz he was soo cocky that he was winnin it before it even started. but its now been settled n i will defo let you know times and dates john would be over the moon to know how much fans he has as he felt in previous fights everyone was against him! once again thanks for all your support!:happy

yeah im meeting up with him later so ill speak to him hes not too good on these things, and either am i, but his sister posts on here so im sure between us we can arrange something.

he has never got the credit otr even attention hes due so maybe now this can be the start of it. dont know much about fighting nicky cook but def know hes to get a crack at the european if he beat morris so fingers crossed. hes always said after sparring with scott harrison he could be as good as him and i think after that win hes shown he has the potential to be.

Look we all have our opinions and mine was that Andy shown enough in fight I and II to lead us to think he would win fight III.

I got it wrong and held my hand-up right off the bat to admit it. You might call this forum the bear pit yet that's no reason not to accept it when someone puts their hands-up.

Simpson, not you, proved me and many others, including the bookies wrong. Credit goes to the John for proving it in the ring and also to Morris for coming through a tough knockdown early in the fight and trying to establish something against a fast-improving Simpson.

Simpson showed class in and outside the ring. Again congratulatons to him and best of luck in securing a fight with Matthews down the line.

Like I said, John may have been working the body BUT in my eyes and most he had lost all the rounds. Apparently he wasn't losing rounds last night.

John says he is stronger and punches harder so this time the gameplan may have worked but when you fight about 16 rounds and lose about 14 of them then that speaks for itself.

Look we all have our opinions and mine was that Andy shown enough in fight I and II to lead us to think he would win fight III.

I got it wrong and held my hand-up right off the bat to admit it. You might call this forum the bear pit yet that's no reason not to accept it when someone puts their hands-up.

Simpson, not you, proved me and many others, including the bookies wrong. Credit goes to the John for proving it in the ring and also to Morris for coming through a tough knockdown early in the fight and trying to establish something against a fast-improving Simpson.

Simpson showed class in and outside the ring. Again congratulatons to him and best of luck in securing a fight with Matthews down the line.

Don't get me wrong I'm not close to Andy, I do respect him though as a person and fighter and don't think he'd have set out to wind local lads up so close to his big fight. That paints a bad image of him as a sportsman so I put my two cents but did it in a crap way as I'm usually typing out at work with one eye on the boss.

I can come across as a bit of a cunt myself but that's the risk of forums and there's nothing that can't be worked out on them.

aah no worries my man. Look. Us scots here arent all going crazy just cos Simpson beat Morris, its a lot deeper than that. Simpson has always had to do it the hard way, & us Simpson fans here have always been wanting him to get a bit of luck. John always has to fight in his opponents backyard, & has been the victim of two highly debatable decisions, against Williams & Matthews. & then, when he fought well & beat Morris in the second fight, he got no plaudits from the media, who made out he got lucky. So Simpson & his fans have had a tough time, but we all knew he was improving all the time, & adding power to his slick skills. The signs were there, but we have been waiting for a while for John to show the world what hes truly capable of, & he did it big style. Thats why we are celebrating, not just cos John beat an englander, but cos John has finally shown the world what us Simson fans knew he could deliver.

OK, I know Im waffling on a bit, but I want you to know that us scots here arent just tunnel vision patriots who cheer our own fighters on blindly without knowing any facts, we know our stuff once you get to know us! & talking & debating & sometimes even arguing:D with us will keep your writing skills a lot sharper than a thousand debates on that humourless, smileyless boxrec could ever do;)

well terry i did pre-warn you john was a much better fighter than you gave him credit for. he did exactly what he set out to do only difference from the 2nd and 3rd fight was that his power was much better than before once again another thing i stated he had been working on and still no one listened to me. the 2nd fight he was doing the same just the punches werent having the same effect this time you noticed a huge difference the same would have happened in the 2nd fight only would have been a more later stoppage maybe 10 or 11th round but least you came on and admitted you were wrong.

Great win for John and really impressed in the manner in which he won. He looked a hugely different and immensley improved fighter compared to when I first saw him at the Braehead in 05.

Personally I think he should look for a 3rd successful defence of his belt before jumping into the Euro fray.

His next fight up here would be a bonus as well.

I spoke to John last friday though i was rather drunk at the time and never mentioned it. ive been pretty busy lately hopefully ill get a chance to catch up with him over the weekend and get something sorted out. I know hes pretty shy when it comes to these sort of things but im sure he wont mind giving up a few hours for his new fans as he didnt really have many on here just the Scottish clan really and had many, many doubters they know who they are!!! im very seldom on here during the week now so if you dont hear from me by sun night you might be best dropping a PM to muay thai chick as thats his sister and sees him aslmost daily.

We know Simpsons a modest guy - thats part of his appeal to fans but trust you will do your best to persuade him!
