To make things more reasonable, let's say the undefeated fighter had to have at least ten victorys.

Marlon Starling had 4, you could argue he won multiple more.

James Toney has 7.

Sumbu Kalambay has 6.

Bernard Hopkin's has 5, with a case for 7.

Donald Curry, 5.

Terry Norris, 8.

Hoya, 6.

Larry Holmes made a living beating on Embryo's in the mid 1980s, so i suspect he will be the champ in this thread.

Yes, before siad fighters slipped into drugs, with the motivation to keep their 0's. It's not as simple as 'They were inexperienced".

Many of those men fought their best fights ever against Holmes, such as Witherspoon and William's. Holmes was the great white whale of that decade, he had a price tag on his head and many came to collect.

Starling doesn't win, but at one time he was heavily noted for being a prospect killer :yep

The highly touted and flying Baret, Ayers and Brown were all put into their respective places at the time. For some (silly) reason managers started to see him as a barometer and these three matched up with him when they thought their fighters were ready. Trouble was, he was VERY underrated at this time which he subsequently proved.

Honestly the reason why I critisize Larry so much, is for as great as he became(My # 7 heavyweight of all time)...I feel he in fact underachieved accomplishment wise for his era. Larry had the goods, he had heart. Had he not gotten so arrogant, Lazy in 1983.......He could have really helped his legacy by taking Real Defining fights vs experienced world class Alpa Champions/WBC mandatories Greg Page, Pinklon Thomas, Michael Dokes, Tony Tubbs, and Rematch with Witherspoon. These were big fights that had to be made, and were calling to be made, and Holmes balked. NOT ONE unification of the belts in SEVEN YEARS as champion. Inexusable...and the fact he tried to get to marcianos 49-0 by fighting those novices instead of Page, thomas, or tubbs hurts his stance in my eyes.

Holmes overall accomplised a good amount...but from 1983-85 had he fought some of the top guys like page, thomas, tubbs, or rematch spoon and won CONVINCINGLY...Even if he still lost to spinks in 85, he would have been a gauranteed top 3 heavyweight of all time. Too bad Larry took the easy way out by 1983..thats not in his character.

Mike Weaver fought a ton of undefeated guys in his career and he was almost always the underdog for each bout. Most of the guys mentioned previously were favorites and/or heavy favorites in their bouts against the undefeated fighters. Whole lot tougher assignment when you go into bouts against undefeated guys when you are not expected to win.

Yes, very impressive indeed. Back then i was a massive Barrera fan but i couldn't help thinking/knowing Morales was always going to win whenever he got in the ring, he was that good effectively, and his will to win was that strong. The only time i ever picked against Morales was against Barrera himself, because of the nature of the grudge match. But it's interesting that in bouts against other opposition i was never confident that Barrera would emerge victorious as much as with Morales. As a Barrera fan back then you always had that worry about his consistency i thought.

Chavez must have about 100 (granted most of these were making their debuts)
