The fight also had more holding and hugging and cheap tactics than Mayweather's entire career combined.
So whats your point? Thats his style & you either adjust or your fucked. I'd like to see Hattons inside fighting/body shots while PBF is trying to get unglued from this guy.

What utter rubbish. Mayweather was brilliant against Corrales and Gatti. Plenty of action in those fights, even though one sided. I would rather watch a replay of Mayweather v Gatti before Hatton v Castillo. Any day of the week as well.
Hatton is always having a go at technical fighters. "This fight is not going to be a tickling match". Hatton was good tonight before the left hook landed, not outstanding. It was a great performance overall. Mayweather's performance against Gatti was much better. Its not his fault Gatti never put up much of a fight. One sided fights can also be entertaining.
Hatton just does not appreciate skillfull boxers who are in the business of boxing and showing defense. He's all about coming forward and putting effort in throwing loads of punches.
Here are Mayweather fights that were entertaining and good to watch. Corrales, N'Dou, Corley, Mitchell, Gatti, and some others.

Yes b/c it would be fair to PBF to drop down two weight classes from his last fight, and fight at a weight he hasn't fought at for over 2 years. Shut the fuck up.
I think he could still make 140 without too much problem , he always keeps himself in good shape and didn't seem to put on too much mass since his move up .

Well it all depends how you look at his ''action'' . it was action though, and yes he knocked out with a body shot. But as always it was ''wrestling action'' , no ''boxing action''. I prefer the last one..

guys mayweather is a pop and hold guy these days too.......anyone remember the baldomir fight?
As for ricky fighting floyd at 147. I don't think it matters at what wieght they make the fight 140 or 147. floyd was 4 lbs heavier then ricky was last night when he fought DLH. There both naturally the same size. And if ricky wants to fight floyd at 147 its doubtful that he'd make the mistake of bulking up like he did last time.

hatton turned down mayweather because he wanted to get some more exposure in america first, so that he can earn more $ from what will be his biggest fight. he didn't shine against urango and collazo, but did last night. now he'd take the fight with mayweather, anytime, anywhere if the money was right. he's said he wants him, it's now down to mayweather. the mayweather comment last night is just trying to wind him up, and start getting a fight talked about.

because hatton has given the performance that he needed on american soil to get his name more well known. if fmayweather calls him out again and the terms are sensible the fight would definatly happen.
that's great. it's just too bad he wouldn't fight him when he gets the chance.

fighting mayweather at 147 is hardly on hattons terms. mayweather has only had one fight at 154. a fight at 147 would suit mayweather better than hatton, hatton would obviously prefer 140, but there's no way he could fight at 154.

Ppl on here keeping trying that bullshit about more exposure but he hasn't done shit to make himself more natable since the Zoo fight. That fight is what got him his exposure, and it would have been the biggest fight of 2005! This fight barely helped! Why does he mention Mayweather so much but seems to have no intentions of fighting him? He almost seems obsessed w/him, yet scared to fight him. He mentioned fighting some guys at 147lbs, but no mention of Mayweather....why not? You guys sit on here and cry, moan, and bitch about Mayweather when he speaks about opponents yet Hatton does it and he's funny, and comical! Hatton's mouth is much bigger than is heart!

Makes me laugh how all of the PBF fans hammer on about how great PBF is by "fighting out of his weight class", but then in the next sentence say "Oh,, Floyd is a 154 fighter now, no way he makes 140".
Which is it? Is he a full blown 154 or not? If so, STFU about jumping weight classses. If not, then surely he can make 140 again?

One major thing you're leaving out here Biggame......
......Hatton has never annointed himself as the best fighter p4p on the planet. In fact, he's always said he has things in his arsenal as a fighter to work on.
.....for the first time last night, you saw Hatton point out that he's ready, willing and able to test his mettle vs anybody in the world.
Hatton for the first time ever is talking like a p4p champion, and I'm willing to bet that unlike Mayweather, he's willing to back up his talk.
As of now, Mayweather is'nt interested in fighting any of the existing p4p'ers. Mayweather has declared himself retired, unless hasbeens or fighters on their way out like DLH who can still draw a good payday are willing to fight him, I dont see Mayweather eager to fight any of todays legit p4p'ers who like himself are in the prime of their abilities.

No, he cannot fight him now. :nono And if you try to tell somebody that this fight makes sense, then the answer is going to be "He has done nothing to deserve a shot at PBF?
Same goes for Mosley. According to PBF fans He avoided PBF long time ago. Mosley missed his chance, therefore PBF has nothing to prove.
However, a fight against DLH makes more sense. PBF is the smaller guy and he is willing to risk again his "O" against an ATG. :yep , but on the other hand many of PBF fans say that DLH has never beaten an elite fighter, not even in his prime. So, try to figure that out. :dead

This was not a great fight.
It was O.K.
Lots of holding and hitting, wrestling and some inside work always followed by some type of holding and cliching.
Not a lot of boxing --- mostly bullying.
In the 3rd round , both fighters landed some good body shots.
Hatton, of course a little better and getting the best of the pushing and wrestling match.
The last body shot that Hatton threw was not his best in this fight.
Jose took the good body shots.
Hattons last body shot didnt look like a liver shot.
It looked like he caught Jose behind the elbow, on the back-lower rib area --- weak spot.
Definately not a gut shot or even an oblique shot.
Definately not this great devastating liver shot.
It didnt even look that hard, as he threw it with mostly his arm.
He was winning the fight, but it was competative.
He didnt exactly beat Jose up.
Cotto is much better.
Period.

During a 6 month period when Hatton was under contract with ******, and Floyd was already AT 47 when that contract was up. It was clear financial success for Hatton and Floyd became a FREE AGENT himself, so it sounds like the POT calling the KETTLE BLACK.
Why on earth would you cling to that STILL?? What's up with RIGHT NOW or after SSM?? Hell, Hatton went to 47 to chase PBF then Floyd goes to 54 to fight DLH, and its the same old song and dance routine since 130:yep Yes hatton had difficulty at 47 with Collazo but PBf isnt a real 54 fighter anyway he started 10 lbs lower than Hatton.
Its about LEGACY, and Floyd WASNT CHAMP AT 40. Hatton has again REAFFIRMED his Championship at 40. Floyd got the power from Oscar?? So make the offer, get your legacy, and YOU KNOW DAMN WELL YOU WILL MAKE $$$$$$$. Do it at 47 if he likes, Floyd is hardly gonna be the more physically imposing of the two at 47 or 40.
Stop the excuses and make the meaningful fights or just :piss what he's accomplished to this point. That's cool.....just don't want people pretending like PBF ran from him at 140, like SOME posters here want to imply.
At the same time, no way should PBF have to come down to 140 to fight him. If PBF is not retired, he is the 147 champ and the top fighter in the world. Hatton goes up to him, not vice versa. PBF should fight him though if he can't fight Cotto or Margarito/Williams winner.

I didn't know you could "here" offers.
Why would PBF offer to fight Hatton? He had already been turned down 2 times....was he supposed to know that Hatton was suddenly ready? Wasn't he still in the middle of his "3 fights in the US" to make a name for himself?"
Yah, don't revise history cuz it fucks up your day.

FUCK YOU if you believ that the contract with ****** had nothing to do with it!!!!:good
That's INSANE:nutcase
6 months after Floyd beat gatti HE WAS AT 47 when ******s contract expired and there werent any real offers at 47.
Guess what?? That doesnt change the FACT Floyd wasnt 140 CHAMP and Hatton has proven yet againg that HE IS.

Hey, works both ways little boy.
Hatton went to 147 but he was never the REAL champ now was he? Just a belt holder. What is PBF at 147....the REAL champ.
Yah, sorry buddy, but it was HATTON who said he needed 3 fights in the US before PBF. And Collazo was his first fight in that series, then he immediately went back down.
Hatton is 3rd in line, maybe 4th. Cotto and Margarito are bigger fights.
Yah, whining and crying.....suddenly all this shit was going on and THAT'S why Hatton turned down the 2 offers. All of a sudden it's ******....yah, keep it coming. :deal

I'm arguing with someone suffering from a mental handicap apparently:yep
Lets see they both won fights aginst Tszyu and Gatti respectively in June, ******s CONTRACT WITH HATTON DIDNT EXPIRE UNTIL AFTER THE MAUSSA FIGHT which OCCURRED on 11.25.05
FLOYD FOUGHT MITCHELL AT 47 on 11.19.2005!!!! Is that sinking into the cement head of yours??? That MEANS THAT those "offer"s came between June and Novemeber and Hatton wasnt going to give away what would amount to a large some of his hard earned $$$$ to Frank ******.
Just like PBF bought out $750,000 of his contract with ARum so that he could negoitiate HIS own deals and make more MONEY, WHich is what it's all about for Floyd. If anyone else has finacial concersn, then they are automattically DUCKING PBF:lol: They made bullshit offers which they knew wouldnt be expected and Hatton himself denied the rumors that his father said he wasnt ready on FNF as well. A long with two or 3 fights TO BUILD THE HYPE FOR A MAYWEATHER VS HATTON MATCHUP.
Now where were any offers or statements showing interest from Floyd at 47?? There was "discussion' supposedly but ALL WE HEARD was JUDAH, and DLH!!!! PBF was forced into BAldo almost choosing Spinjs at 54 instead so where, where, where was/is FLOYDS INTENT or ACTION>>
STopm crying, making excuses, and talking shit, IT ONLY GETS YOU SO FAR!!! Yes PG, you are a little bitch:hey Hatton will represent one of the largest PAYDAYS and since MONEY is everything to supalips why's he gonna play these games with a FIGHTER that he'll supposedly beat???

I guess Hatton hasn't watched many of Mayweathers fights at the lower weights, e.g., Vs Emmanuel Burton where they traded on the inside for large parts of the fight.
In any case, Mayweather displayed more skill in his 1st round KO of Bobby Giepert than Hatton has displayed in his whole career.
Hatton is much naturally bigger than Mayweather, who was outweighed by 13lbs in his last fight at Welterweight - They should do the fight at Welterweight, if at all.

THis is the question for all hattonites, has ricky hatton gotten better as a fighter since the zoo fight or gotten worse with his holding. Like lederman said hatton is a hook and hold type fighter who has showed no boxing skill in his past three fights. Hatton will never be ready for a fighter of floyd's caliber. Let's see who hatton fights next, my money is on the weakest champ at 140 A fighter who doesn't move his feet and position himself well like castillo, zoo, and urango.

With the potential for BIG MONEY AND FACTUAL RESPECT against the top OPP and subsequent legacy enhancement?? Bullshit catches up in the end, 1 way or another. Floyd has the opportunity to GO FOR IT, earn respect, and make TONS MORE MONEY in a reasonable TIMEFRAME but he's "retired". OK...
I didn't miss anything nor leave anything out divac:nono
Hatton has been spitting garbage and shit for years like he's obsessed w/Mayweather yet in all this talk he never mentions getting in the ring. There's always a reason or excuse. my suggestion is Shut the Fuck, and grow some balls!
Hatton couldn't talk like a P4P Champion because he never was, and he still isn't! Hatton's two biggest wins are against opponents that were past there primes so don't talk that BS about Mayweather and older opponents. Hell one of the Marquee names that everyone talks about on Hatton's resume is Phillips...need I say more?
Hatton needs to stop talking shit and start talking fight, and then what he says can be taken into consideration. Those corny comments about a guy you've avoided for two yrs only walks w/guys like you, and his fans! Mayweather's talking fight, so let's see what Hatton does now. I'm sure after he weasles, and finds a way out of this one they'll be cornballs on here trying to blame it on Mayweather! That's one thing that's consistent, and you know you can count on here at ESB!!

Whoa! What a major slap in the face. That ought to wake up Team Joy jr. The only problem is Floyd would never come down to 140 to meet Hatton. He'll make Hatton go back up to 147, which would be a distinct disadvantage to Ricky.

I thought the comment was funny, but really not true. People forget the Mayweather that stopped Manfredi who was a demon at the lower classes. He kept moving up in weight, and his power didn't follow him. Not that he was a devastating puncher, but he had enough power to stop people with accumulation and pinpoint accuracy.
At 154 Mayweather CANNOT be exciting. He's just not built to do anything but run from guys at that weight. Personally I think his peak weight probably WOULD be 140. Fighting Hatton at 147 would probably help Hatton more than him.

1st off don't get me confused w/other posters! 2nd I wanted and still want Mayweather to fight all 3guys! 3rd I wouldn't call speaking the truth being defensive:nono
If you want my honest perspective I want Mayweather to fight Hatton or Cotto 1st, than fight the other, and then Margo 3rd cause he'll have possibly done something by then!
I don't care what Mayweather does whether he fights again or not. Guys like you sit here and act like you can actually place him, or judge his career, and you do it out of hate. Why do you look for reason to knock him? Ans that while you're asking questions! He's done more in his career than most, and that being 95% of fighters. He's very accomplished, and if he doesn't want to fight again I don't blame him. He's been disrespected, and never given full credit even when he beat the guys all you guys and so called experts thought he'd lose too! He'll go out on top, his way, and undefeated and I have no problem w/that! I hope he fights again, but I can't knock him for what he's accomplished, and the fact that he'd be retiring w/his full health at a young age, and alot of life ahead of him!
He tried to fight Hatton, and Cotto, and sent out an offer to(I made my name off of Mayweather, and I'm a media made hype machine)Margo so if he doesn't fight any of them I don't blame him, but it doesn't mean I don't want him too!
Anymore questions?
