I couple of years pre-Bunce there used to be a magazine show for about 90 minutes midweek. It did not have the Bunce humour or appeal, but did have more fight action.
Sky have Boots n all for Rugby league followers, the rugby club for their union counterparts.
Sky please bring back Ringside

we should really just lobby every sports channel to have boxing

How about every channel? Even BBC News and Living! In all honesty, I think it's about time that BBC 5 is set up; a sports channel for the licence fee payer. If there can be BBC News and BBC Kids TV then at least there should be a sports channel dedicated to highlights, programs and live events.

Ringside was a classy show so I'm well on board for this. It would be nice if Dempsy was back hosting it. I'll probably be banned for saying it but I'm no fan of Bunce and never really liked Setanta. Yeah, their coverage pissed all over Sky, but it was shambolic from the start. I can't see Sky having Bunce, nor do I hope they hire him. Sky have an excellent team at the moment and I hope it doesn't change.

Sky do have a good team as it is
However Bunce would fit in there somewhere
Always get the feeling Dempsey likes to be the one in control. Could be funny if they put Bunce in to ruffle his feathers :hey

Dempsey did a few shows with Buncey for their 'big fights' on setanta, for example the Calzaghe vs RJJ fight, and Dempsey was, in my opinion, poor. Did not gel like Bunce and Kerr do.

is it 100% come back then?
We had a Boxing show, on Setanta, we had the home of Boxing on Setanta. £10 or whatever a month, every fight free, yet no one supported the channel.
Now we pay Sky or Primetime for EACH event. Ive spent around £100 on Primetime since it's been launched, almost every single fight they had Setanta would have had.
Yet so many was glad when Setanta hit the dirt:huh
Not me mate.
f***ing ruined my life when they hit the red button.
So many Cards of Boxing and UFC missed:tired

On a serious note, Ringside coming back would be great, i used to love that shit, proper boxing news on the tv, even if some of our commentators etc can be boring, it was still great.
Is it coming back?

Sky needs a show like 'Ringside' to build-up the next generation of British boxing stars.

Will this be on the new Virgin sport channel. I sure hope so. Never mind Paul Dempsey, bring back Gary Norman, he built Ringside, not Dempsey.

Good news then, always thought boxing should get its weekly magazine programme back. Hopefully Sky re-launch their boxing coverage, it has been stale for a few years now.

Cheers Jeff, great news that. Would love sky to get a few more American cards, doesnt have to be every week but the likes of Juanma, Gamboa, Bradley, Dawson etc, dunno what the costs are like though so might not be do-able.

Best bit of Boxing news I have heard in a long time lol, cant wait, only thing that would beat it is the announcement of the Mayweather v Pacquiao fight.

Whatever happened to Gary Norman? He just seemed to disappear around 1996. What a waste!

I'd love if it came back. Could help fighters get more mainstream exposure as well.

Gazza Norman went off and became the lime-green jacket prince of golf.
Adios.
