View Full Version : Who is the WORST fighter you have ever seen live?

Simple question.....

I don't mean the most disappointing performance from someone whom you had hoped would be better than they were - I mean genuinely crap fighters!

The worst I have ever seen, or will ever see, would be Paul Royston.

I remember watching Peter Buckley's last fight on and wondering where the fuck his opponent had learned to box..... 'cos the place wants shutting down

I was really disappointed with Paul Hyland having heard good things about him.... IMO he lost that night in Barnsley.... though I have just broken the rules of my own thread!

it has to be micahel sprott,on the undercard of Burns/Arthur where he thougth for the EBU-EU belt .he truly was terrible throwing puches you could see from a mile off and making certain grunting noises like a feamle tennis player

The scorecards show Sprott winning every round on one and nine of the ten rounds on the other two.

Are you absolutely sure that Sprott's opponent wasn't a worse fighter than him?

In Barnsley?

There were a couple that were questionable, the draw was dodgy as well.

yes mate mick robinson won 3-1. he was the same ref that stopped derry matthews last fight which was a disgrace

Beeston Brawler

I felt Robinson took that as well.

One of the worst I have seen was Mo Khaled on the Murray McAllister bill, he won all four rounds yet 'lost' :-(

Dom Ingle's face was a picture, he was too shocked to be angry

I forget the kids name, but he has his pro debut on a ****** bill about 8ish(?) years ago. He was an Ingle fighter and was heralded as 'better than Naz'. He ran around the edge of the ring as fast as he could occasionally did an odd jump/flap punch and then started running again. Despite the constant movement, he kept getting tagged by the body they'd dug up to fight him. IIRC he was lucky to escape with a draw and I never heard of him again.
All the build up and he looked like a 9 year old doing a terrible impression of Hamed.
Just wish I could remember his name.

Matt Skelton. Coupled with him being as boring as fuck, the noise he makes whenever he throws anything (I mean even a pitter patter punch as well) has gotta be one of the most annoying sounds I have ever heard. It's like he can't even be bothered to snarl.

This poor lad:

Ricky Colquhoun.

I don't think he managed to punch journeyman Domvill Hendrix once. This fight turned out to be his whole career.

Hendrix tagged him, not particularly hard, and he just went into his shell. He just didn't know what to do. Hendrix felt sorry for him in the end and gave him a little pat and word of encouragement actually.

I've seen Royston plenty of times - he's far from shite, despite what his record says.

Skelton is truly awful in world terms but, come on, he's achieved incredible things for a bloke who took up the sport late and has absolutely no skill whatsoever.

I do respect the guy for what he has achieved since he packed in the kickboxing but I'm not changing my mind- he's boring as hell and that noise really irks me. Like I said, it's like he can't be bothered. Skelton just really annoys me inside of the ring, it's nothing personal.

Royston is shite, all he does is circle the ring like Amir Khan but doesn't throw punches and when anyone goes near him he runs like a coward.

Complete gutless faggot.

Outside of Ryan Rhodes, he was the biggest earner in Coldwell's gym one time over when he racked up a load of fights in a year.

He is brought in to lose; I think he could be more competitive but he can fight if he needs to, trust me. He gets tagged far too often when he does so though, which is why he keeps away no doubt. I've seen him trade a few times.

Have to admit the Rogan fight was a good scrap though.

I think people have got me wrong. I don't despise the guy I just think he's boring. As for the Rogie fight, Rogan made that fight interesting, IMO. Would have been a hugfest had it been Skelton's way.

I am intrigued by this fighter and I would like to know more.

Does anyone have an idea of who he is?

Can you remember what the main event was and I will trace it from there?

I believe the man you are looking for is actually Khalid Shafiq, he was spun as the second coming of Naseem and made his debut live on SKY on the undercard of a Dean Francis fight in 98.

I believe he got put away for drugs offences.

Fuso Banjo, i think i have pronounced his name correctly, absolutely shite...

You leave Funso alone, he was OK, hell he was almost British Champ (which kind of shows you weak the Heavyweights were in the 80s!)

If you want 70/80s Heavyweights that sucked, then I give you Chuck Gardner....

Although he did redeem himself some what in my eyes, with his pre fight (Bruno) quip.

Interviewer: "Did you shave your hair like (a white) Hagler, to try and intimidate Frank?"

Gardner: "No, I am going bald!"

Emmanuel Marcos... I'll never forget the name!

He fought Anthony Small on the Thompson/Haye undercard at Wembey Arena and he honestly looked like someone they had dragged off the street :D

Give him his due but he realised how poor he was and went on to feign an ankle injury to get the fight called off.

Have pity for me because also on the undercard was Roman Greenberg who I had heard a lot about but hadn't seen yet. You can only imagine the disapointment I experienced :-(

For me it would be watching Matthew Barney run from Froch for the entire fight then occasionally stopping to throw 3 arm punches whilst grunting like a woman and then running again. Terrible!
