i'd have to opt for the Calzaghe Lacy beatdown

Actually Calzaghe should have put him away but he failed.
It was dominant performance, but there was no cherry.

Which makes a big beating. Had Joe stopped in the 5th or 6th, it would never even be considered a contender in this category.

the question is probabily phrased wrongly, i'll say the most one sided title fight that was supposed to be compatitive are JC vs lacy and RJJ vs Toney

Ali vs Frazier 3 - Both of them took a hell of a beating
Mosley vs Margarito - Granite was smashed
Pacquiao vs Diaz - Drawn out beating, which lead to a devastating finish
Baer vs Carnera - Completely overmatched, and was on the deck quite often

Unfortunately, and I'm sad to say it, the one that instantly springs to mind is Irish Billy Collins against Luis Resto. That photograph of Billy's face still haunts me.

Yeah, I tried to stay away from fights which lead to a permanent injury, but that was sickening.
Gatti vs Mayweather was gruesome
Mayweather Vs N'Dou was up there along with that as well.
Lately Juanma vs Penolosa was pretty bad

Kind of going away from the spirit of the thread has anyone taken as much a beating in 3 consecutive fights as what Margarito has from Cintron, Cotto and Mosley? I personally think he's one beating away from permanent brain damage.

Bruce Seldon against Mike Tyson.... man, Seldon could have caught pneumonia from the draught that knocked him over!
And although this wasn't a sustained "beating" per se, and is considered just as a knock out, it was a still a brutal multi punch finish when Ray Mercer KO'd Tommy Morrison.
Domestically one that springs to mind is Colin McMillan against Paul Ingle.

What about Toney been slapped around the ring by Drake Thadzi and Montell Griffin. Not exactly pound 4 pounders were they?

Carl Froch vs Jermain Taylor if only for the fact that Carl Froch decided he didn't need to use the block button when he was fighting, think he was going for an achievement.

actually was just watching the calzaghe Vs Jones fight again last night. Jones took a serious beating imo. The sheer number of shots he was taking was ridiculous!!
And they weren't all slaps
