I'm trying to get my body prepped for the shore, but my right knee's been bothering me for the past week.

This has never happened to me before, it's like the right side of my knee.

I tried resting for like 3 days and icing it, but it still hurts again when I try to jog again.

My friend suggested that I raise my knees up when running, should I do this??

Thanks.

Does it feel more like muscle or cartilage? Usually little problems with my legs and knees go away after a day or so.. You may need to rest it, stretch it out more before you jog. I've been fortunate enough to have practically no long term knee problems but I'm sure there's plenty on here that can give you more advice than I can.:good

It feel more like the cartilage.. Ughhh, why can't this happen during WINTER?

Lol you're lucky that you don't have problems with your knees. I didn't either until this past week. I took my healthy knees for granted and now I feel like I'm getting older and older =(

thanks though!

Knee injuries suck for any runner. I have suffered from problems with my right knee myself which has really hampered my running goals this year.

Try the link below it may help you self diagnose what kind knee injury you actually have.

Swim

Go to the doctor to check it out.

You're welcome, I was fortunate to come out of high school football and high school baseball with no permanent injuries or any chronic injuries. A lot of teammates have chronic injuries that will probably stay with them for life. But since I'm doing boxing training now I have to use my legs and knees a lot.

Try some low impact cardio, like an elliptical trainer, cycling, or swimming. If it's hurting that badly, don't do anything for a week or two and see a doctor.
