I'm sure he was denied. I saw an interview somewhere that said he was "training" in his cell, whatever that means. Push ups, pull ups, shadowboxing, running in place, etc. He said he wants to make a comeback. Don't they all?

He'll continue to be denied until he stops denying his crimes. The parole boards are funny that way.

Considering he was a fighter with so much potential, he can make a enough to retire on once he emerges from prision, if he is brought back cautiously. Cant blame him for trying either. He will get out and make work for about three years and be a millionaire again.
Look what Tyson did, he fooled the public out of mega millions, that he was still a fighter when he got out.

When you consider that Tyson won two world titles after prison. I wouldn’t call he’s comeback to fooling anyone. Maybe he wasn’t as good fighter than before prison but he was still one of the best fighters in the world.

Hmm, prime Ibeabuchi would have walked through Wlad Klit easily...

That would have been on the ESB mainpage, few months ago.

My understanding is that even if he gets out, getting wealthy from fighting is almost out of the question, as he's going to face a deportation hearing and is likely to get send back to Africa

The parole board will never let his crazy psycho-pugilism-inventing ass out.

Ike is the most overrated HW of all time after Vitaly, all this hype for one fight which BTW I thought Tua won.

Ibeabuchi is actually FAR more overrated than Vitali - he gets far more respect than Klitschko, based on TWO FIGHTS against rated fighters, only one of which, as you point out, he won convincingly. Vitali, at least, had several fights against decent comp, and won a title. Ibeabuchi fought 18 of the usual chumps and then had TWO FIGHTS which still have people treating him like he was something more than an unproven prospect. It's bizzarre, frankly.

Now that you mention it I thinks it's about even but atleast Ike was able to beat Byrd, Klitchco couldn't even do that nor was he able to beat a shot LL and people think he could hang what the ATG's, and beating Sanders, Williams, and fat Johnson is not what I would call good comp, Wlad is easily better than both IMO.

Isn't Wlad the so called no1 HW cause he beat a far more faded byrd??

Not just that, Wlad has a much deeper resume overall.

Ike's going to be one of those guys who we all remember for "what coulda been". That's just the nature of the sport- there's a ton of fighters on that list for one reason or another.

Fair enough, but winning a title over Bruce Seldon was hardly anything to brag about, but yes the Bruno fight was a decent accomplishment.

Ike had the perfect physique for the sport about 6'2 215,and the chin, power, and a great workrate for a fighter his size and punching ability. He was deemed the second coming of tyson, people love these type of fighters cause they are the most exciting. As far as being overrated he might of been, but honestly what fighter can go blow for blow Tua and not get his head knocked off in the process and thats part of the mystique of Ike.
