View Full Version : Dunne to fight Munroe in Dublin in September?

Well its only a theory but I'm convinced its going to be true. Reasons.
1. No one else available bar the mandatory against poonaswat and I think Dunne will want to fight Munroe ahead of this as there is more money. Cabellero, Vazquez, Marquez and possibly Juanma even are all moving up to 126. Munroe is by far his best money and draw fight left. It will also allow him the chance to avenge his only loss by beating the guy who beat Martinez twice.
2. Out of the blue Maloney starts talking about his man Sutherland fighting Peter's man Jim Rock for an Irish Super Middelweight title in Dublin in September. Its known that peters has September set for Dunnes next fight. This has undercard fight written all over it.
3. Bam Bam said he knows who Dunne is fighting but has to keep it quiet till its comfirmed. He said its a fight that could have been announced a while back.
And also since Mccloskey is now targeting september for his fight for the EBU title I'm hoping he can be added. It would be a good card.
Dunne v Munroe (WBA TItle)
McCloskey v m'Baye/Lynes (EBU Title)
Sutherland v Rock (Irish Title)
This card has a nice ring to it.

If true I think I might just get in touch with my family in Dublin and ask them if they mind me coming over!

Beating the guy who beat the guy does not avenge a loss
Munroe is the least difficult opponent out there for Dunne :deal
Still think Munroe can do it, but will have to fight an impressive fight if it were to happen.

I wish ppl would not write thread titles like this. It makes it look as though it is fact, when in all likeliness it will never happen. This is as bad as the "so and so KOs so and so" - 6 months before the fight has even taken place.
Let's say Dunne retains his title, remains champ. let's say Munroe wins the WBC belt from tough Japanese fighter Nishioka.
Before Munroe said Dunne needed to fight him (something to gain for Munroe). If Munroe wins WBC title, Dunne will say Munroe needs to fight him (something to gain for Dunne). Before, Dunne ignored the call. After, Munroe will ignore the call. i.e. "I don't need him, he needs us." So this is boxing, this is why boxing sucks, the fight you want NEVER happens - boxing more often than no doesn't deliver -- this is why people die, this is why people, this is why -- this is why boxing dies, this is why boxing, this is why --

Did you not see the question mark?;)
The Bin man disposes of Dunne.
If this fight happens Dunne will win. Like I said before, if both are on top form, Dunne takes it by wide UD.
Munroe aint been "disposing of" anyone lately btw.
He should try to avenge his one round balls up first.
He should try to avenge his one round balls up first.
Yeah and Munroe should try to avenge his loss to Andy Morris too, but that's not going to happen is it.

If he has a mando and they accept Kiko id prefer that than Munroe
this thread is pure pish and made on speculation ,threads like this dont add to the board just pure pish made in some guys heid

It would be more entertaining than watching Munroe anyway and it would put a lid on all this Dunne/Munroe/Martinez bullshit.
I am thoroughly convinced that if Dunne fought Martinez again he would not only beat him but do it in a much more convincing fashion than Munroe did.

So why comment?!

Thats why i think Dunne should fight Martinez first.
If he does the job better than Munroe that adds a lot more fuel to the fire.

Actually if he fought Martinez and did a better job than Munroe it would probably kill the fight.
I'm interested to see where Munroe goes next, but he's going to be in for a very sharp rise in the quality of opposition soon and I'll be looking forward to see how he copes.
I think someone said recently that Maloney's going to try and get Munroe a WBC eliminator against Simeone Maludrottu(his European mandatory). Maludrottu's 6th with the WBC, Munroe is #2 and Rafael Marquez is #1 having recently won an eliminator.
Maludrottu would be the perfect step for Munroe, a rise in class without still stepping up to World level, and his best bet them would be to let Marquez fight Nishioka and Munroe be the mandatory after that. Being mandatory would provide Munroe with his biggest possible purse(a 40% share) when he fights for a title.

Vazquez definitely wants it?
I wish Caballero would get it.
Everyone's avoiding him.
