Kellerman's an idiot. Remember his streak of going like a year picking every major fight wrong? He doesn't have a clue. As far as not giving Hatton credit he has a well known bias against European boxers, so it's no surprise

Shit, I'm with Kellerman here.. Castillo looked bad, and even though Hatton did what he was supposed to, you're kinda left with this.. wtf? feeling.. you don't want to take something away from Hatton, but you still think.. wow what the fuck happened to the Castillo who fought Corrales, Diaz, Maywether, etc...

Hmmm...
Thread in this forum has a title with a fantastic Hatton quote...
it was served up intentionally by a man who clearly favors the fighter that was mocked...
In fact, the lead-in was a DIRECT CREDIT to the fighter he was interviewing, and DIRECTLY AGAINST the fighter that he has been known to shower with praise.
I've seen Kellerman do it; I'm waiting for some others to be able to do it while discrediting him so much...

I dont like Kellerman but he told it exactly how it was. Castillo is washed up and he moved up from 135 to fight a man that walks around at 190lbs when hes not training. Even Malganagii said in his Post fight interview last week that Castillo was washed up and it wouldnt be a good fight

Ricky overworked him alot and made him look slower, it was a impressive performance by Hatton.
I think the move up in weight has affected him more than being shot or something.
He isn't able to dominate as much at this weight.
Not as strong and Hatton began to dominate and had alot more speed, which didn't make Castillo look good at all.

Kellerman is an enthusiastic guy with personality and some knowledge of the sport. However, I think there are many posters here who are smarter than him. Give me Larry any day
I missed the fight, I was at a party and they didn't have HBO. My old man calls me to see if I saw the fight, and I said "No, but don't tell me what happened cause I'll probably see it on HBO 2 or 3 tomorrow morning." He replies saying "Well, all I have to say is that Kellerman sucks. He is an idiot. A complete and total idiot. He sucks." I was just like okay.
So that's it? It's because Kellerman laid the plan for Hatton, Hatton executed it, and then Kellerman said that Castillo's washed up?

Right, so instead of cheerleading Castillo and giving him excuses, he should have been asking why he couldn't handle Hattons power to the body.

At the end of the day Kellerman said what Hatton should do, then when Hatton did it he discredited the win quite blatantly, he could have said "Castillo didn't condition his midsection properly" or "he maybe should have used his reach advantage to keep Hatton at bay" but no, even though Castillo could very well have done these things and stayed in their longer Castillo executed an innefective game plan and Kellerman says "oh well he was shot". This guy belongs alongside Joe Rogan while the real journalists talk about boxing.

Castillo looked shot and fought like it. If you're gonna pick opponents who are well past their best you should be called out on it. Hatton did what he had to do and he did it well. However, this victory does not earn him any accolades because it's about 3 years too late. Kellerman may have been a bit out of line with the questioning but he wasn't wrong. Even Steward said Castillo looked shot.

Larry Merchant could have asked the same question -- and it would have been charming instead of annoying. He would have done so with a fatherly hand on Ricky's shoulder, leaning in, talking slightly softer as if it was an intimate setting instead of a full arena.
The confrontational style Kellerman uses and the arrogance he exumes just turns you off to him. He's aloof, smug, way too perky and not a replacement for Merchant.
Get me Al Bernstein when Larry decides to call it quits, or Gil Clancy.

You are exactly correct. Steward remarked early in the first round and reiterated through out the fight that Castillo looked shot and looked like an old man. Kellerman never made such a remark until after the fight is over. What a clown. The guy is absolutley a terrible announcer. His so called knowledge is really not much knowledge at all. His voice is terrible and he has NO charisma. Being over opinionated does no make one knowledgeable.
Stewart on the other hand was dead on with his observations. And seemed to have little use for Kellerman and his remarks.

I mean shit it was almost the same damned scenario as this fight. Morales coming off a terrible looking performance against Raheem, questions about Morales being shot were rampant... then when Manny destroyed him, the question was answered.
I guess this next fight will answer the Morales question for good.. and we'll see if JLC ever fights again in a competitive fight on whether he's got anything left as well.
