View Full Version : I broke my friends rib sparring

He's kind of a new jack to boxing, so I was taking it easy on the head shots, but I saw an opening and I threw a right hook to the body. Felt his rib cage flex, but he played it off like it didn't bother him and we kept sparring.

Next week he tells me he thinks i bruised it or seperated it possibly.

Week after that, some of the swelling and tenderness has gone down and he can actually feel it with his hands and he calls me to inform me I broke his rib.

Gots to love them body shots.

He's an ambidextrous fighter. He can get knocked out with either hand.

I dont get why he is bragging, when I read the title I thought he was going to be feeling guilty. I mean he just broke his mates ribs who is completely new to it and trusted him in there to teach him stuff and not permanently hurt him.

Sure its not on purpose but you shouldnt be happy about it.
