Is if he uses his jab consistently.. Otherwise no. Cotto fights somewhat flatfooted sometimes.

I will say though that Cotto has been getting better w/ his jab IMO..

you are one of these people who thinks he's one dimensional, how many of his fights have you seen?

NO im not I think Cotto is a very good fighter but if he cant establish his jab he will not win.He seems to have gotten better though...It should be a tough fight.

He'll probably win as well if he knocks Mosley tha fuck out. Just a thought.

But Cotto does have to be set when he punches on his feet is what I meant..he gets a lot of strength when he plants his feet. I look for Shane to hit Cotto w/ a lot of overhand rights.

I look for Shane to hit the canvas with a lot of face.

Only way? Use his jab and then what? Outbox Mosley? :-( :D

Nah nah nah :nono . . . to hurt the opponent seriously and take him out of his comfort zone . . . and that my friend works both ways.

I mean if he can use his jab Cotto can get into range to land his more powerful hurtful shots..But the thing is Mosley is a smart fighter and he will try to setup his jab as well I believe...and he has the Speed to do it... and like I said Mosley is a smart fighter..he may be old...but hes stayed in great shape and hes still a tremendous athlete even at 36.

I actually think this fight favors Cotto moreso than vice-versa.

Haven't we already seen that Cotto's chin is suspect. Hell - Corley almost ended Cotto's night. If he fines himself in the same situation with Mosley - it's a wrap.

And of all the top opponents Mosley's faced - he's only been down once. I've only saw him hurt twice and both came in the first fight with Forrest.

Shane wins by KO - that's my prediction.

I would tell cotto to KEEP THAT CHIN TUCKED, use the jab, and tear that body to pieces for the first 7 rounds. And watch out for Mosley's brutal hooks.

Corley hit him on the temple which is nearly impossible to find. If Shane gets him there I will probally be a 10 count but temple shots knock many fighters out. I think Mosley will be able to hurt Cotto with hooks, this will determine who wins or not is how Cotto can handle that adversity (non low blows) but his ability to cover, use the ring, tie up Mosley. If he can survive those moments then he has a very good chance late to stop Mosley.

corley almost ended floyd's to didn't happen so.

Floyd's defense if way better than Cotto's - so that doesn't even compare. Plus - Shane's Power is that much stronger than Corley's. Cotto's going down. :bbb

Cotto can only get better

Cotto is a mauling machine - question is, will Mosleys speed suffice? Mosley seems smarter than Cotto, but the latter has better bodywork, and has more power it seems. I think that it would be Mosleys best chance to utilize the jab, more than Cotto doing it.

Thats my 2 cents.

I don't believe Cotto can beat Mayweather at this time. I don't think he can beat Mosley right now either.

Nope. Mosley is going to sprinkle glitter on Cotto by the 10th.

Just Sometimes? HBO have clearly promoted Miguel using terms such as "versatile" ( cause he switches to southpaw stance when he gets arm tired), "skillful" ( when he lands on the elbows ( Branco), groin ( Judah) and soft spots in the kidneys (Urkal), leans his chin against his chest and moves only forward and basically tries to steamroll opponents outa there justlikethat)... I mean, I understand Lampley & Co r tryin to look at their own future with Miguel and other young bloods but they cannot use those terms randomly! Even if Cotto uses the jab to set up other things, he's way too predictable and slow coming off, Shane would time him using that momentum he puts behind punches - he simply keeps his body and arms continuously moving and charges up fluid punches with the physical definitions of momentum and power, not just strength, he uses leverage & speed and thus increases the impact by winging sharp shots with high arm momentum, great power which is force multiplied by speed, very much unlike Miguel Cotto...

IMO, Shane is going to dominate the early rounds but Cotto will take over from the fifth until the end and squeak out a UD.

and Cotto will be there to be hit...notice Shanes losses...twice to vernon...twice to winky...2 good defensive fighters...Shane shouldnt have a problem finding Cotto.

Mosley has never been that good defensively either. Cotto will beat that ass into retirement. :happy
