As far as fights that were surprisingly great, Cotto - Judah has to be up there.

How about Williams vs. Margarito - that was a pretty good fight. I still take Marquez vs. Vasquez.

Marquez vs. Vasquez - either fight.
I second that, although I prefer the second bout. I also think either fight will take some beating for it be knocked off the the spot as the most likely choice for FOTY.
If a fight is going to surpass that, then I think Cotto vs Mosley has the best chance at doing so. Although a case could well be made for others come the end of 2007!

1. Mormeck vs Bell (So far the best fight of 2007)
2. Pavlik vs Miranda
3. Williams vs Margarito

Katsidis-Earl.
Still wayyyy to early to decide as we got some MEGA fights in the next 4 months!!!!!! But it's going to be hard to top Marquez - Vasquez II.

Linares Vs Larios was also a good fight, if for nothing else than showcasing Linares as a future/present talent

Chagaev/Valuev, It was a very tactical match Chagaev fought to beat the giant Valuev.

Vazquez/Marquez for sheer brutatility. You could feel the left hooks that they landed on each other.

Vasquez-Marquez 2 and fucking easily better then anything ive seen since Corrales-Castillo 1. Pavlik-Miranda is very overatted as it was complete and total one sided domination on Pavliks part, Bell-Mormeck 2 was crazy good but the last 4 rounds we knew who would win the decision so the drama was kinda gone plus they where so tired those rounds from the hell they went threw the 1st half the workrate was way down.

Vasquez-Marquez 2 is locked now. The only one that can unlocked this is the next Superfights to come. But I doubt if it can be beat.

Miranda vs Pavlik. Nothings but BOMBS were being thrown in that fight, although, I can also argue that both Marquez vs Vasquez fights could be up there too!
A fight should be competitive to be considered FOY IMO

Vazquez-Marquez II.
I do think that Miranda-Pavlik and Katsidis-Amonsot were two of the most enjoyable.

Marquez vs. Vasquez - either fight.
Any other answer is not to be taken seriously, and deals a serious blow to anyone's credibility.

IV-RM didn't have massive underground followings? Hell they had overlapping fanbases, the chants literally seesawed between their two names throughout both fights.
Williams-Margarito wasn't 1/100th the fight either of their wars was.

Vasquez v Marquez II
Mormeck v Bell II would of have won if the last 4rds didn't suck so bad, the first 8 were outstanding.

Really? From the sound of it, Harris had at least a couple of moments...

Marquez-Vasquez II is my pick, but there's not enough love for Barrera-Marquez, with the other round of the year candidate of round 7.
Barrera-Marquez was my pick before Marquez-Vasquez II. It was just an amazing display of skill.

I would go with cotto Judah. I think that the Marquez vs Vasqez fights were amazing but I just wish they would have lasted longer.
Second I would go with Barrera vs Marquez
Then with the 2 Marquez vs Vasquez fights. Again I think these fights were amazing and would be #1 on my list if they just lasted a little longer

Marquez-Vasquez II followed by Barrera-Marquez and Marquez-Vasquez I.

He clipped Witter a few times when he was getting desperate but it was basically a one sided demolition.
Not that hard to do. Its obvious Harris likes to get the distance set with a very quick jab followed by a straight right hand....its all he does...
