I am curious to know which fights everyone has seen live (location please) and if they prefer the live atomosphere or watching it closer on T.V... I, for one prefer the energentic crowd, going crazy with a group buddies and getting wasted.. Good time for me! Then see the reply to see who really won...

Ive seen:

Tito-Wright Vegas
Wlad Peter (mainly for Cotto-Torres) Atlantic City
Hopkins-Taylor I Vegas
Cotto-Quintana Atlantic City
Cotto-Judah New York
Cotto-Mosley (yet) New York
Hopkins-Tarver Atlantic City

Only Barrera vs Juarez on the elite level. Was a great show and I got to meat Pac for a moment (really nice person).

Talked to someone who met Corrales at the fight (and likewise said he was a cool dude), would have been great to meet him. :good

Depends if you are a boxing writer doing a report or just there for fun. For fun I prefer the live atmosphere. Though if I have to write a report on a fight I go with the TV.

I always have to review a fight if I'm going to write some about a fight I attended live.

I met a lot of famous celebs with I went to see the Tito-Wright bout... To name a few... zab, floyd sr, floyd jr (very nice fella at the time), steward, cris carter (football), Willie McGinest (football) etc.. They where all out that night at the MGM. Oh yea.. Saw Eddie George with a flock of hotties hopping in a stretcher outside of MGM after the fight... Pimp scene that was.

Only one I've seen is Taylor/Wright in Memphis. Even though it's less expensive and more convenient watching from home on the big screen, I still plan on going and seeing another one...it was really awesome.:good The bad part was the ticket prices for that fight were more expensive than any other fight that I've looked for ticket prices for since.

Is was at Abraham-Ikeke and Abraham-Gevor.

I liked beeing live there. It was awesome, when Abraham KO'ed Gevor. Almost everybody jumped up with the hans in the air ... like when a soccer team is making a goal.

It was more like "Oh shit, he killed the poor guy" - that was what most people thought when they jumped up...

Caballo, what was your impression on Hagler-Colbert?

I saw one Hagler fight -vs. Hamsho 2 at the MSG.

- Klitschko/Mcline - Mayweather/Castillo 2 won the undercard
- Mayweather/Judah

The first card was OK, the main event being mostly boring as Mcline fought very scared. Mayweather/Castillo was pretty good, although I pissed off the Mexican guy sitting next to me when I told him I thought Floyd won!

Mayweather/Judah was a blast just because of the atmosphere in the Thomas & Mack Center. I was a little paranoid when the riot erupted in the ring. I had visions of Golota/Bowe.

I didn't have great seats at either card, so ultimately watching it on TV would have been better, but the atmosphere at a live fight is hard to beat.

Caballo, what was your impression on Hagler-Colbert?

I saw one Hagler fight -vs. Hamsho 2 at the MSG.

Hagler was already very big in New England at that time. He just looked rough, tough, very strong and very efficient with his punch delivery, defense, etc. Mike Colbert was pretty talented from what I remember. Kind of slick. He looked kind of like Walt Frazier. It was already clear Hagler was fearsome. We were already huge fans.
