I'm hoping we at least get to see Machida's chin tested in his next fight. We may get a look at his ground skills. Shogun can be relentless, and he going to need to be. Suppose he defeats Shogun. Then suppose he gets past a fight with the next TUF's coaches winner. What's left for him at 205? Anderson Silva seems to want no part of him, which may stem from a friendship.
White seems determined to get Fedor. This match could materialize, and I think its an interesting one. There's questions about Machida's chin, but he is hard to hit and may be capable of taking a punch. Machida looks to have solid grappling skills, is fairly strong, and may be tough to take down for a smaller heavyweight.
Machida's speed makes this fight intriguing, and I would like to see what Fedor does to deal with it.

Beat me to it.
This fight wouldnt be that competitive I dont think, lets see Machida vs a true A+ prime LHWT in Shogun Rua before feeding him to the lion.

It would be interesting to see how he does against fedor but i think in the end fedor will show how dominant he really is and stopped machida.

What are peoples fascination with Shogun Rua?
Shogun is far from being an A+ LHW.
And hes absolutely going to get KILLED by Machida. It wont even be close.
Rua is not a great striker, and he certainly wont be able to get Machida down. Its going to be a one-sided fight.
In terms of Fedor, how many people have been able to take Machida down? Machida is a great, great fighter and Fedor wont be able to land shit on Machida. It would be a very interesting fight to say the least.

First off Shogun shouldnt even be in the same ring as Machida... If this fight is to happen Fedor/Machida...I say dont be too sure. Machida is the best tactical fighter in MMA, no one epitomizes elite Offense/Defensive skills better than Machida..Thats a fact
But as it satnds Fedor is still the greatest MMA fighter of all time

Fedor would likely rush him and take him down, even if he got hit in the process. One thing he can do is take a hell of a shot. And once he got him down it would be over quickly.
