Enzo Maccarinelli, ex world cruiser weight champion. Some of you folks from the usa wont have a clue who he is. He got beat tonight. Will be on his way to the UFC soon. Will be interesting to see how he does in a real fight. :good

If it stays on the feet he should win...if it goes to the ground he's screwed

He competes in bjj, so it's not a bad idea. It's not official at all yet, he's been talking for a while.

He's talked about having a go at MMA, but not seriously. And definitely not the UFC. He does jiu jitsu at a hobby level, not serious grappling. If he ever does fight he'll never make it to the UFC.

I'm curious to see how well Enzo does in MMA if it comes to fruition. He trains in jiujitsu - so he should be perfectly prepared to step into the Octagon. He won't be able to go from a losing streak in boxing straight into the UFC. He might have to go through some smaller shows in order to build a MMA resume first.

Oh dear!! I thought he wasnt being serious about that. I mean half the words that come out of his mouth are bullshit. I don't think he will do to well in MMA. And he won't get near the UFC.

Well thats quite unfair.

UFC has some horrible, undeserving fighters in its stable. Maccaranelli as mediocre of a boxer that he is, could at least get a couple fights in the UFC even if he manages to lose every single one of them.

OK. He could get a fight on a UFC card. He will never be a fighter of note who fights in the UFC, though.

He's talked about it a couple of times on Buncey's show. Said Dana calls him often. NO joke. Plus he said he would give up boxing if he got beat in this fight. If he fights at his current weight it will be the LHW division in he UFC. Who's do you think will be his 1st opponent? I say maybe Colman. Thoghts?

It's more like a real fight than a boxing match or kickboxing match. Do you disagree?

Also, for christsake, who do you consider to be a good boxer? EM is 29-4 with 22 KOs and held a relatively major title and defended it a number of times. He's got to be better and more experienced than 99.99% of all boxers out there. What portion of boxers in the world do you consider to be "good"?

Why would he be fighting Lesnar? Enzo weighed in at 197 Friday and even said he could make 175 LHW in boxing so he could probably compete at middleweight in the UFC.

enzo is shit and ill be surprised if he gets anywhere in mma, he was never that good of a boxer and has a serious glasss jaw, those lanky legs of his are not suitable for wrestling and he looks like he is suscetpible to takedowns, enzo is untested at mma level and you retards are talking about the ufc, lets see how enzo does at local level and then cage rage first before we even mention the ufc

I just think it's funny that the title of this thread is:

"Ex world camp boxer coming to UFC."

You try saying that to Enzo's face.... lol

He says he trains on the ground so with some work could make the cross over. His flaw seems to be his chin and if he takes to the ground work he could be okay. His power could be devastating with small gloves.

I wasn't saying he deserved to walk into the UFC. But he will. Dana's been trying to get him for some time now. He's been desperate for another British fighter to keep the popularity up over here. Especially after he ran out of weak opponents to spoon feed Bisping.

Is that right? i heard he has been training, but i ahvent heard anything of dana being interested. I wonder how Enzo's ground game actually is???

why would dana white be so interested in enzo, he has had zero mma fights and totally untested there are plenty of other talented mma fighters in britain for dana to replace bisping as a crowd increaser

Enzo is from the same area as me and I would love to see him in MMA, but I dont hold high hopes for him tbh

If he did make it to the UFC he would be a bigger draw in the UK than Bisping

Don't think Enzo will be fighting again. The commentator hit the nail when he said Enzo's punch resistance has gone. His confidence is shot you could see it in his eyes during the weigh in. Unless he starts easy in MMA I dont see Enzo fighting ever again. Not knocking his career cause I thought he was a decent boxer when he joined Calzaghe and there were some improvements.

It all went wrong with the Haye fight then it was Calzaghe's lawsuite with Warren.
In fact I heard Calzaghe spent more time in the magistrates than training his boxers. During that period I think all of Calzaghe's top stable lost. Pryce, Rees and Enzo.

Think Enzo might be looking for a new career altogether one without fighting but I guess it all depends on his mental fortitude. Cause I dont know many fighters who've come back from 3 K.O's in 4 fights so late in there career.

A Glass Jawed fighter like Maccarinelli would fit in just fine in the UFC.
