hey mike w. you may get to see your boy get destroyed by fedor sooner than you think Affliction's main event for next Saturday is in turmoil as Josh Barnett, the opponent for WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko, failed a drug test.Affliction vice president Tom Atencio said the California State Athletic Commission would not tell him what the banned substance was.
Next Saturday's card in Anaheim was supposed to be the company's biggest event to date, and now Affliction is scrambling to salvage it. Emelianenko is widely considered the best pound-for-pound MMA fighter in the world, and finding him a quality opponent in a week will be difficult. Atencio said he's in negotiations with three fighters. They likely are former WWE star Bobby Lashley, Strikeforce's Brett Rogers and former UFC light heavyweight champ Vitor Belfort. personally i think lashley would have the best chance of the three because i dont think theres any chance in hell of the phenom handleing someone as big and skilled as fedor.
