Considering the mishaps with Josh Barnett, do you think that Fedor may reconsider his position with Affliction?

i think after this fight fedors contract is up with affliction,i am prety sure that the ufc is going to make a run at getting him to sign with them,i heard they were wanting him for a 6 fight contract and he didnt want to take that many fights cuz it would interfere with his sambo but then again this is just a rumor more than likely so dont take it to heart

He's done with affliction after this either way. His contract expires and he can't hold affliction on his own. I dunno where' he will go but I sure as hell hope it's UFC.

Only if he has nowhere to go...

I think it would make logical sense for him to go to UFC. He will get paid more money and there are bigger fights to have at UFC then Affliction. Other than Josh Barnett, who else is there at Affliction? Brett Rodgers?? Going to the UFC could set up possibily the biggest Heavyweight match of all-time, against Brock Lesnar. I hope Dana White does not F&ck this up!:patsch

It's very possible. The sparse HW division to be unified. Arlovski, Rogers and Big Tim who else is there? UFC seems he most logical choice. He would probably be smart to fight once or twice to get acquainted with the cage.

no matter how much they try to pretend otherwise the UFC want him desperately

they'll make exceptions to their usual BS stipulations

the whole MMA World wants to see Fedor Lesnar

maybe a 3 fight deal - a tune up, a fight with Lesnar, and if he wins, a defence of his belt

I think the perfect way to build up the fight is give Fedor a fight with Randy Couture assuming he defeats Nogueira if he doesnt give him Frank Mir. This gives Fedor a dangerous opponet that he should still dominate yet at the same time prove himself to people who dont know him well by beating yet ANOTHER UFC Heavyweight Champion. Im cool with a first UFC non title fight because Brock will probablly be stuck in with Velasquez-Carwin winner first and im sure he smashes both.

Exactly what i was just thinking. Couture would be the Perfect first fight for Fedor in the Octagon

If he comes through that, feed him to the Lesbo

Then if he comes through her, he still has to make a defense

Makes perfect sense :)

Im waiting for the 12 post that says Fedor would just kill Randy and Mir so whats the point ? Fedor would also kill Brock or anyone else out there but they fight the fights for a reason.

I was actually thinking the same thing that would be perfect give Brock another tough fight and more training time and let Randy get the fight they had promised him. not to mention like was said give time to promote the fight and Fedor.

Nogueira looked shot last time out but if he`s not & it was just a freak one off (which I doubt) then Randy is getting submitted & not many will call for Nog-Fedor 4.

You don't have a dollar... you have quid or schillings or some other weird coins like that.

When you look at what the other guys are making on the Affliction cards, I think Fedor might be the only fighter getting a raise by going to the UFC.

The UFC's first offer said no Sambo tournaments, termination possible with loss, and an ever renewing fight obligation with each win. If the UFC will drop the bullshit restriction on Comat Sambo competition, at least give Fedor a rematch clause with everyone he faces in case of a defeat, a deal can probably be reached.

Nogueira isnt submitting Randy. This isnt 2000 anymore Coutures BJJ game is near a Blackbelt level what exactly did Jacare do when they grappled ? Nothing and Nogueira isnt quite as good as Jacare.

Why is a Combat Sambo competition restriction bullshit on the UFC's part? I realize the odds of Fedor getting hurt are small, but it's still there - and they can't promote that to the base of American fans who are the backbone of the UFC's success.

The injury argument would be a basis for argument, but I think Fedor could say his training holds just as much chance of getting injured. I believe the real reason is because the UFC feels that a loss by Fedor in Combat Sambo threatens his status as an mma fighter. Now that has actually happened, and Fedor didn't suffer any noticeable reputation damage; I believe it will be less of an issue.
