Diaz can't touch Pac!

nutthugger?:huh
I think that Diaz could beat him. IMO Pac doesn't like fighting in close quarters he prefers to live off that one two, particularly the left. I would love to see how he handles getting backed up, as I don't think he is a natural counter puncher. If Diaz can keep his guard up and try to use that jab and avoid getting hit on the way in I think he could do well.
I personally think that pac would struggle with a guy that tries to back him up, much like guys likt KT and Forrest did, who were aggresive punchers who's key weapon was there jab-cross. Once people get inside that distance they are much less effective, and can be beaten.

nutthugger?
huh? get real. The quick but feather fisted Diaz is no match to Pacs devastating power.

It's 50-50, but in terms of quality of opposition Pac has the edge (Barrera, Morales, Marquez) but I'll still root for the Storm Across The Pacific.

A 50/50 fight but Diaz have the upper hand. :yep
Diaz by late TKO.
Im basing this mainly on the fcact that Diaz is a lightweight, and Pac has never beaten a world class lightweight. I think itd be a tremendous fight, def a FOTY candidate, but I think the naturallly bigger man could grind out the win.

Pac came in the ring at 144 at one point looked solid muscle. He now has a mean right hook that will stagger Diaz if he catches him. Dont think the 5lb would make too much a difference. Juan Lazcano, the guy who gave Vivian Harris a tough fight was apparently one of Pac's sparring partners for Morales.

:huh
What relevance does that have to the thread. Perhaps if we had footage showing Pac dominating this guy in sparring it might, but the mere fact that they sparred doesn't prove anything.

The fact that he has a WW for a sparring partner gives evidence to Pac being able to hold his own at LW. What would be the point of putting Pac in there with a bigger man for sparring? Obviously to get used to the size and power than Lazcano will bring...and fact is, Pac must have held his own for them to keep Lazcano around.

too early to move up for PAC...he's just getting used to his current weight..whats the hurry?!?!

Fair enough. I still think it is hard to judge without knowing what intensity or what the outcome was, but I can see your point.:good

Yea I must admit, it did sound quite irrelevant the way I said it...but thats how I saw it anyways.
This would be a great fight though, regardless of outcome. Too bad though, Pac cant be leaving 130 until he cleans house...if he cleans house.

I don't like all these fantasy matchup for Pac at 135. He's got many more options at 130 to take care of so why move up? He gets ton more money and exposure by fighting the elites in his current division.
Yeah but I only mention it because Diaz called Pacqiuao out.

This is a fight I would love to see and I honestly could not call it. Both men are warriors. This has the makings of an all-time classic bout if it were to ever happen.

diaz called him out because he is the biggest draw in the lighter weights. i think it's kind of gay when you call out somebody and ask that somebody to step up in weight. in diaz really wants pac, he should fight him in the 130-132 range. there is absolutely no sense in pac fighting at 135 except if morales beats david diaz, pac might challenge Eric for the hang of it.
I read somewhere that Diaz is even willing to go down at 130 just to fight Pac.
At 135, I'm giving the edge to Diaz.
At 130, Pac by KO

At 130, I favor Pac, and at 140, I say Diaz by close decision in a GREAT fight

I guess you can say im a Pacmaniac
but have to say this fight is all wrong for Pacman
the size differential would be too big, its practically a flyweight vs a welterweight....in fact it is!!!
the only people who want this fight are Pac haters who need to be shot in the head.

i agree, marquez, guzman, barerra, soto and valero must fight pac first. and in that order too.
but it will be a good match up for diaz's sake because pac is a bigger draw than any opponent he may have at 135. there's absolutely no way roach is going to allow this fight to happen at 135! they did not even allow the morales to be fought at 132, much less 135

Diaz much too fast and too busy for Manny.
Also, Manny's power should not be a factor at 135.
Atleast not with Diaz.

Skillwise, Pac is 2 levels above Diaz, but due to the size differential it might be a very close fight. Still Pac wins it.
Pac is faster, better footwork, better at creating angles, better head movement, better combos, more accurate, better at blocking punches, better at countering.
They have equal stamina, or maybe a slight edge to Pacquiao.
Diaz is MUCH stronger.

Diaz could take Pac`s power punches.
Pac could also handle diaz`s punches.
I would say Diaz would win by decision
because of his punches workrate is
too much for pac.

Pac by late round stoppage. It should had been the opposite if they fought two years ago as Juan who had a better workrate was then the bigger fighter.

It's fascinating to note how people's opinion change over time. I'm one of those who believed pac has no chance against the baby bull when he called out pac right after the julio diaz beat up. I think he said pac should fight a younger champion and not old mexican legends.
Funny thing is he got beaten by a grandpa lol. Karma works in mysterious ways.

true true. i remember some fans were saying that pac should fight younger fighters like juan diaz. and that juan diaz will run over him etc etc.
the passage of time has indeed been very kind to pac and and not as generous to some other fighters. sometimes, you think that success for pac and some of the other great fighters like pbf, dlh, sweet pea, chavez was written on the stars.

Seriously though, I'm rooting for juan diaz to win this one although I think he has a very slim chance against a very technical JMM who is aging well.

The fault Brutus, is not in the star but in ourselves...

i picked jmm over juan diaz but i realized just now that juan diaz has the styles advantage over jmm. juan diaz is a swarmer while jmm is a counterpuncher. anyone thinking that this would make it a harder fight for jmm?

Me! Been saying that that shit for a long time now. But it seems ESB is selling Juan Diaz very short.
Still leaning towards JMM but no way would it be a schooling like many people are suggesting. Wouldn't be surprised if Diaz wins.

a counterpuncher usually has a field day with a swarmer. Think Toney vs Jirov, PBF vs Hatton, Donaire vs Darchinyan, Hopkins vs Pavlik, Mosley vs Margarito (Mosley is not a natural counterpuncher but he was on that night) .
If JMM is in shape, he will dominate Juan Diaz.
