he looked pretty good against Krasniqi, but a faster more relentless heavy with good footwork will give him problems

He beat Timur, Krasiniqi, and Guinn. By todays noobody-fights-anybody standards, that is not a bad resume.
He is a hype job. I saw his fight agaisnt Timur Ibragimov and he looked like shit. I am waiting for him to get KTFOed by someone who can actually fight
You need hype to be a hype job. I think he's one of those few examples of a top 10 fighter right now that's not overrated or underrated. Everyone just recognizes him as a solid fighter with no skills that stand out. Plus he's old, so it's hard to get excited about him.

I thought he was another Tye Fields kinda guy, but credit to him he has stepped up his competition recently and has got the wins.
Still not an earth-shaking talent or anything but better than I thought.
A fight against a top contender should be the next step.
He is a fringe contender at best.

Thompson isn't bad. He's a well managed top 15-20ish talent. I don't think he will win a championship.

My honest assessment of Thompson is that he's slow, plodding, not technically sound... yet... somehow he manages to win fights, but up until this point the best he's fought is the B- (who fought like a C level) Krasniqi.
Thompson will lose as soon as he fights someone in the top ten with a pulse.

Thompson is nothing special. He working a lot in the Gym maybe 5 or 6 hours but mising skills. He beat Guinn, Timor and Krasniqi but i cant give any chance with another hard contender. In the next fight he will lose badly. I hope Krasniqi will get rematch and will win this time by KO.

no, krasniqi has had his chances. until the last fight i never felt angry for him and even now there's more sorry i feel than any true dislike.
but he's not made for the ring. it's a risk for his health and would be a shame for boxing if he continues fighting. he doesn't just lack killer instinct or determination in the ring, he was in total apathy the last time. and even if he should win the rematch, sooner or later he's going to pull off a 'luan' again which is nothing i wanna see anytime again. his career should be over - in terms of resume his potential totally didn't live up the expectations.

You are right chliJs for everythink but i still thinking that fight was fixed and the fight will happen once again. We will see what will happen in future.
he did beat Krasniqi but he looked like total crap, he wont beat any titleholder

He's gone farther than I expected, frankly - but I think he's pretty much reached his limit. If he takes on one of the top guys he will almost assuredly be beaten.
These guys think they can start boxing in their late 20s and win titles in their mid-30s. Unlikely, to say the least - see Ray Austin. :nod
