I mean he trains hard and always looks in good shape bar the Sturm fight, But is it the fact he cant relax in the ring that contributes to his gassing out? And has Mayweather got the best stamina because of his style or genetics?

Aside from the Oscarsexuals on this site, I imagine you will receive a resounding yes in answer to this question.

Mayweather has good stamina that seems better because he does so little in the ring.
Oscar has bad stamina that's compounded by the fact that he seems to get scared in the second half of fights. He's seemingly terrified of getting hurt, which means he either runs (Tito), quits (Hopkins) or switches off (Mayweather) when he gets tired. That's why Oscar is a "coulda/shoulda/woulda" boxer when it comes to his legacy.

Oscar does have a conditioning problem, that is plain as day. He could have beaten Tito, and Mayweather if he had the ABILITY, to stand and fight the last 4 rounds. He does not have that ability in a competitive fight.

I feel he has the ability as a natural but I think it has to do with more of how hes always trained. Cant teach an old dog new tricks.

No, I don't think he has bad stamina, but he does tire in every fight. It has to do with his boxing style -- when De la Hoya fights he's very focussed, twitchy, concentrated, tense, however you want to call it. You can see it in his body language, but the severity differs from fight to fight.
For instance, in his match with Mayorga he seemed very relaxed, and I do not think even if that fight had gone the distance that he would have tired as he normally does.
Against Mayweather, an opponent who is much more threatening and has much more speed, it's clearly visible.

bad stamina, but more he doesn't want to get his ass knocked out for real. That's why he ran in a couple of fights and took a dive against Hopkins. When the going gets tough chicked De La Hoya runs for the hills.

Mayweather does so little. Hmm... does that include outlanding his opponents in every fight?
Oscar was knocked out against Hopkins.

In terms of expending energy Mayweather does little....he is a master of just doing enough in every round to win the ten points.

Both where dead tired in that 12th and when he KOed Vargas in 11 I dont think either guy was more tired then the other just Oscar hurt him badly in the 10th with the left hook.

He has some some performances where he shows good stamina all the way through like Quartey and Vargas for instance but a lot of times he does fade late. I'd say that he is the kind of fighter that wears down but always remains dangerous

He has had bad stamina in recent years, fading late in fights

He has problem staying relaxed when facing elite, thats why he seems to get tired, and he doesnt fight enough so it doesnt help

He's got average stamina, but has made some really terrible key decisions that have lost him a few fights.

delahoya's stamina sucks for whatever the reason, mayweather appears to have good stamina, but that probably has something to do with the fact that he averages about 30 punches per round
El Bombasto
09-09-2007, 04:32 PM
And his percentage on those 30 punches is 100%,
check your stats
and thats why he is the People's Champ.
then how come he can't carry a ppv?
El Bombasto
09-09-2007, 04:36 PM
I did. I rewwatched round 6 of the Cinco de Mayweather fight. I saw Floyd throw 30 right hands, and de la Hoya's big head snap back 30 times.
And just what were those PPV numbers that PBF helped hype? Thanks for playing.
zero, so what makes him the people's champion other than the fact that you're clearly on his nuts?
El Bombasto
09-09-2007, 04:39 PM
What do you mean by that ? People won't pay to see him fight bums ? Not many can carry a pay per view against a bum can they . Is that what you meant ?
are you suggesting that the suppossed p4p king got there by fighting bums?
El Bombasto

Biggest PPV event in History with the most buys was a PBF Victory. Swallow that. Then again, as a male DLH fan, you love to swallow.
you think delahoya needed mayweather for that ppv? i never said i was a delahoya fan, but since you brought up your obsession, and since you can't seem bring up delahoya without a sexual reference; why don't you go jerk-off to one of the 6,000 dlh posters you have on your walls, instead of wasting everyone's time by posting nonsense here?

Well, yes, because Mayweather is an accurate puncher, not a busy puncher. Plus, it's pretty easy to outland an opponent if he doesn't land more than 5 punches a round.
Oscar was knocked out against Hopkins.
Technically, yes. I think it was more a case of Oscar being hurt by a bodyshot, realizing that he was tired and a KO was on the horizon, and taking the easy way out.
The Kurgan
09-09-2007, 05:26 PM
By himself against a nobody ? Who can ?
Tyson, DLH, Ali, even Holmes to a lesser extent, all could get PPV numbers fighting nobodies. Those are superstars; PBF isn't that kind of a boxer. He's best used as an also ran to complement superstars. It's primarily to do with the fact that most people don't want to watch him fight, because he's not an exciting fighter.

His stamina has gotten worse with age, and moving up in weight. 10 years ago at 140 his stamina was very good, but is stamina by far his biggest flaw now.

He doesn't do well late when going against the Elite as seen against Tito, Bhops, SSM (X2) and PBF.

Yes! It's caused by the inability to relax.
Oscar fades out of fear of getting a mark on his face. He has stated many times he wants to be a movie star and feels he can become a huge star due to his good looks (of course to Oscar acting ability has nothing to do with it).
He felt his looks would carry him to become a huge star with his laughable singing career. He is tense in the ring unable to relax, again the fear of getting marked up.
He is so obsessed with admiring himself that Arum said one time: "If you want to make sure Oscar shows up on time for an appointment be sure there are no mirrors along the way".
There is no way your name can be listed with boxings ATG's when you only fight 8 rounds.

i think it has more to do with his inactivity since the trinidad fight, b/c he was a beast at the end of the quartey fights and didnt seem faded against whitaker.

I guess that's why PBF-Baldo did over 300K in buys more than Cotto-Judah did not to mention PBF is the PPV champ behind Oscar. Learn the facts before popping off at the mouth dumbass.:hi:

Yeah, Mayweather actually puts up decent PPV numbers.
Nobody is gonna really come close to Oscar PPV numbers, but Mayweather is in the second-tier of PPV fighters who put up solid 300+ numbers.

you said mayweather cant carry a ppv right
dlh mayorga had huge hype and managed over a million ppvs
the guy who supposedly cant carry a ppv fights dlh then the ppv number rise by over a million with the same kinda hype
why is that

Pimp, in the minds of the Oscarsexuals, only Oscar exists. They dont watch boxing, or even other sports. They simply watch footage of Oscar's ringwalks, over and over again and mastrubate themselves into near insanity.
dont be too hard on yourself jackie boy.everyone needs a sexual outlet.

its not about his stamina, my trainer tells me what is oscars problem. He is very front foot heavy. He puts a lot of stress on his legs when he fights, is why he starts to fade in l8ter rounds. Once ya legs get tired, you get tired its as simple as that. And until he changes his style of fighting, he will always get tired in his fights, he mayb could have gotten away with this style when he was younger, but he is gettin older, legs are going to tire quicker.

Does Oscar have Bad Stamina
It's decent but many are better. It's genetic like speed and punching power. You can work on it but there will be limitations.
