Taylor wins, he is more experienced, and has fought against more styles. Taylor, all feelings aside has done a lot in his career, and this will be one more thing for him.
Taylor ko.
Pavlik KO. around the 9th. taylor won't be able to standup to kellys power.

Pavlik in the 7th. It will come in the form of a very fast 1-2. It will happen when JT least expects it and finally paws with "even one" of his jabs, and then the left will be like tap, then faster than one would think POP comes the right. Down with the champ.

This will be Pavlik's toughest challenge Bar-None! Pavlik will weather Jermain's early quickness by touching him just enough to make Taylor knows he's in for a long night. About the 5th round Taylor will find the ropes, allowing Pavlik and opportunity to find clean shots. The onslaught will continue for Pavlik until the 9th, when he puts Taylor out for GOOD! Michael Buffer says "AND THE NEW MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD....."

BTW I find it very telling that no one has picked Pavlik by decision yet. Seems like no one in the history of mankind could get a fair shake and win a decision over Taylor.
70 voters as of right now and only 2 of them think that Pavlik will win by decision.
That right there absolutely shows that the consensus around here thinks Taylor gets gift decisions and that no one is "ALLOWED" to beat him unless you knock his ass out. Ok, Yes, Im a huge Pavlik fan but thats not the reason I bash Taylor. Taylor gets bashed because of what he has been given over the years and the majority of you also feel that way.

My prediction- Pavlik wins something like 8-4, vastly outworking. Lampley ignores Pavlik's punches, bangs on about misses Taylor shots, and the fight is scored 7-5 Taylor. There is never a rematch.

I think Jermain has gotten where he is on steam and heart. That is exactly why he won't make it the distance with Pavlik. Way too much firepower coming back at him this time. Pavlik by stoppage.

Taylor by KO or decision. Probably KO because both guys are going to be exchanging.
Taylor by KO or decision. Probably KO because both guys are going to be exchanging. If Taylor exchanges, that will be a huge mistake for Jermain. Pavliks last few fights have been fought in close, with lots of exchanges, and we all know how they ended. Taylor's only chance is to keep some distance between himself and Pavlik, via the jab, which I believe is not even close to what it used to be.

The new champ will prove his own "bad intentions" against a fighter whom encountered a 4 year old from St. Louis who danced in and out of the ring and made me, Lederman, and the rest of the boxing world absolutly sick. Lets talk about power, speed, the chin, stamina, and overall boxing style. Lets ask this question to Miranda. Hey Miranda hows your face? It hurts muy much. Yeah I saw the pictures it looked brutal. Taylor by KO or decision. Probably KO because both guys are going to be exchanging.
Pavlik throws harder than taylor--by exchanging, pavlik has the upper hand----therefore winning the fight.
If Pavlik does not KO Taylor he will lose a Decision even if he wins 10 rounds. Taylor (other than Glass Jaw Wlad) is HBO's poster boy.

To quote Bronco McKart after he suffered the first knock out of his long career, "I think this kid is the real deal."
It's my feeling that a lot of the people who bad mouth Pavlik have not followed his career very closely. The idea that he is a straight forward slugger that can't box is ridiculous. "The Ghost" moniker was given to him because of his ability to be elusive. Just because he prefers to fight a certain way does not mean it's the only thing he knows how to do. Further, all the critizisms people have for Kelly Pavlik; ie, slow of foot, stands up to tall, mediocre hand speed, one dimensional, et, were also made of a young man by the name of Alexis Arguello, and WE KNOW how things turned out for him! Taylor has no chance against Pavlik. If he pot shots and moves a lot Kelly WILL catch him and take him out in 10 or 11 rounds. If he goes to war with the Ghost, he won't hear the bell for round 7!

I honestly expect this to turn out to be very much like Arthur Abraham vs Khoren Gevor, somebody is gonna dry the strength out of the other like water from a bursted hose or air from a popped balloon and overcome the other in the final rally - it is senseless to believe that Kelly will throttle Jermain justlikethat or that Jermain will unleash some withheld potential that will have Kelly outclassed - even if something out of the ordinary happens, I still believe beforehand that these guys are well matched. Down the line, Jermain's acquired experience at top level may prove to be essential whereas Kelly is just 25 and has time left to comeback strong...
Unfortunately I think Taylor will probably get the nod with retardedly 1 sided cards despite a very even fight.

Actually, I don't see any reason why HBO won't be glad for a Pavlik victory. The guy is young, exciting to watch, is a great puncher and is personable.
There's no reason he can't be marketed just as successfully as Taylor, if not more so.
It's something of a win/win situation for HBO, in my opinion. (barring a really boring fight, or controversial decision)

Obviously the 'Pavlik by decision'-option seems to be the least probable to the forum (until now, at least).
The poll shows pavlik by ko or taylor by decision, taylor is gonna win by ud and i wouldn't be suprised if taylor wins by tko, there's no way pavlik can win a decision,so that means he has no choice but to come forward and get countered all night.

If Pavlik beats Taylor and ends up being the guy at middleweight, I think Lampley is just as capable as showing Kelly some man love.
Either way, Pavlik might actually end up being a better draw for HBO at middleweight anyways since he's more action oriented than Jermain and a better puncher.
However, I'm still going with Taylor by UD!

accurate power punches by the ghost will ktfo taylor... :smoke
And how do you expect exactly the Ghost to ktfo him, pound4pound? Even if he has that nickname, Kelly doesn't have the powers to disappear and he can't throw invisible punches at him! Not expecting Taylor to be a great counter puncher as well, Jermain has the advantage that Kelly has to seize the initiative so that he can land his jab on his face more often than not so I hope that ultimately Pavlik doesn't come to reap what he'll sow for his sake... I don't see any plan B, C or D for Kelly other than coming forward and so may Manny and Jermain.

Taylor has fought better opposition that Pavlik, and won them all, mayb not impressively but won. And still remains undefeated, while Pvlik beat one decent fighter in Miranda. So whos the fluke here?:huh
IMO, nobody can be exposed as a fluke in a World Championship fight. You get EXPOSED when you've been blastin tomato cans and as soon as you step it up you get destroyed. No matter who wins/loses neither of these guys are a fluke and will be around for long time to come. And I'm pretty sure Fulgencio Zuniga, Bronco McKart, and Zertuche are at least decent.

Pavlik UD8 Anthony Ivory (29-66-4)
So Pavlik's gonna stop Jermain Taylor (who has never been floored as a pro) in 7 rounds when he failed to stop a journeyman with 66 losses on his record?
Taylor easily outboxes Pavlik

Spinks UD12 Pavlik
Ouma UD12 Pavlik
Taylor UD12 Pavlik
I'm looking for Pavlik to show on Saturday that he's anything other than a heavy handed future journeyman.

Taylor easily outboxes PavlikThat's about the worst arguement I've ever heard. You find 1 of the 3 people he didn't KO out of his 31 fights, and that's your arguement. Kelly has KO'd several people that have never been KO'd before, and tomorrow, he will add to that list.

Tis poll just show's how underrated Taylor is. It's his own fault, but he is underrated nonetheless.

Exactly...These guys just have their favorites and when it comes to the favorites all logic goes out the window and the baised post come rolling in. Pavlik is a big strong slow middleweight with great knockout power but I don't think he will even have an answer to Taylors jab. Speed will be a significant factor in this fight and Pavlik does not have it. He will simply be beat to the punch...

I'll pick Taylor by knockout in the third. A Pavlik victory is about as unlikely as Bergeron looking like a muppet.
