I've really been impressed by your defence in your last few fights, any tips?
1. By the end of your career, where will you rank in terms of legacy for fighters with the surname Mitchell.
2. Who is your boxing idol.
Cheers for any answers you give in this thread. Much respect for coming on here.

Why is everyone so obsessed about Ricky burns and Willie limmond for? I'm always hearing about them too all the time.... yet what have they done that stands out more than anyone ales at their level?
If Mitchell wins a world title next, which is a big if then he'll never fight Burns if everything is done fairly.

It nevers ceases to amaze me the amount of boxers that were inspired by Naz, there are also a loads of British (Asian descent) fighters post-Naz. Naz seems to have had a fairly influential indirect effect on a lot of British boxers....

To be fair as well Kev, a fight with Choi would be a good domestic fight. I'm sure he'd be willing to fight at 130 and as he was recently ranked in the top 10 for the ring at 126, it would be considered a 'step up'.

Chris John - I haven't seen him in action as he had mostly boxed in Asian but I was curious to see that his rematch with Rocky Juarez (the first one was a draw) is listed on boxrec as a WBA Super World Featherweight Title fight. Chris John is the holder of the WBA World Featherweight Title and that is what John-Juarez fought for in their last fight??

Just a general point. I think this is an excellent idea to have threads like this, so that boxing fans can talk directly to the fighters. Especially with the complete lack of boxing coverage on our TV's and the loss of the Boxing Hour. Nice one Kevin. It would be great if we could do this with more boxers and trainers.

If you both go back a few pages he ansered on why he left Cook. He said something along the lines of, it wasn't so much him choosing to leave Cook because of his training methods/ teachings but he 'just wanted a change'. Understandable really. To add to that he said he hopes Roach can help him with his footwork and defence:good. This was brilliant:yep.

shit, can't believe i missed it, cheers kevo
great move in hiring Roach, he's very good in adding to fighters with your style and ironing out mistakes like squaring up and walking into punches when going forward without altering their instincts, for me Kevin you need a bit more of those two magic words "effective aggresiveness" and i'm sure Freddie will make you a better all round fighter
i don't know if its been asked already, but do you think those early blow outs as happens with almost all young fighters has made you lose your identity as a fighter? in other words has it made you fall into the trap of thinking you're a KO artist instead fighting to your strengths, this has happened to a lot of fighters IMHO
btw i thought you're boxing idol was Nigel Benn? hence your style

Bugger, thought this wasn't happening until next week so I've missed the boat a bit on this.
If you are still knocking about Kev...
I wanted to ask you about how much say you have in picking your opponents? Is it strictly ******'s decision or do you get a fair bit of input?
Just in case you can't/don't want to answer the above question...
You have a very solid chin, which most consider to be an attribute you are just born with. Do you agree with this, or has there been something in your training/development that contributed to solid whiskers?

I'm a really infrequent poster on this site mainly because I would highlight my ignorance of the sport if I were to post more but I had to add my thanks to Kevin for coming on here to do this.
I am little better than a casual fan, but Kevin Mitchell is one of the guys I would always look out for and hoped would reach the heights that we all believe he can.
All the best and thanks Kev.
Don't be shy, post away.

Do you agree with this, or has there been something in your training/development that contributed to solid whiskers?frank will pick my opponents we will have a meeting about it and decide together, i do trust in him, in fact he has to hold me back, chin comes natural, dna make up

hello Mr Mitchell
Im wondering what do you think of the WBO belt?
In my eyes you need to hold linearship to be a worl champion, if you win a belt you are just champion of that organisation and not of the world.
Hi Kev,
Not sure if you answered this one but are you looking to spar with Khan and Pacquiao at the Wild Card?
Also...
As Jeff touched on, who were the bigger names you fought in the amateurs and what were the results?
Finally...
Who is the best guy you have sparred?

shit, can't believe i missed it, cheers kevo
great move in hiring Roach, he's very good in adding to fighters with your style and ironing out mistakes like squaring up and walking into punches when going forward without altering their instincts, for me Kevin you need a bit more of those two magic words "effective aggresiveness" and i'm sure Freddie will make you a better all round fighter
i don't know if its been asked already, but do you think those early blow outs as happens with almost all young fighters has made you lose your identity as a fighter? in other words has it made you fall into the trap of thinking you're a KO artist instead fighting to your strengths, this has happened to a lot of fighters IMHO
btw i thought you're boxing idol was Nigel Benn? hence your styleno i dont think so, i think the fans like to see the knockout, im sure freddie roach will steer me in the right direction tho

Just a general point. I think this is an excellent idea to have threads like this, so that boxing fans can talk directly to the fighters. Especially with the complete lack of boxing coverage on our TV's and the loss of the Boxing Hour. Nice one Kevin. It would be great if we could do this with more boxers and trainers.i agree, when kevin and vin go of to LA i will keep anyone informed has to how they are getting on :bbb
