M-1 Global Press Conference play by play

[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Update here too - [Only registered and activated users can see links]
and here - [Only registered and activated users can see links]

Starting at 4pm... Anyone on the call? Mad Xyientist?

I'll post updates as I get them.

----------------------

4:07 pm - music playing, hasn't started yet
4:12 - Jerry Millen said it will start in 3 more minutes
Jerry Millen – Thank everyone for coming out on short notice. We’d rather be fighting but we’re here instead at this press conference.
He’s introducing everyone on the panel…

Vadim is up next
Vadim - not only the UFC but all companies. (it's hard to understand the translator)

Makes EA Sports Video Game announcement... says Fedor is heading the game.
Fedor - I'm very happy to be in the video game. Thank you for coming, we'll be happy to answer all your questions.

Asked about the future - " We are working on the options. We'll see... "

"We're exploring all options... we are not prepared to disclose anything today"

Fedor - "I have talked to Dana White on the phone yesterday"

"Our offer is simple... we have a champion, they have a champion, we offer to have a co-promotion. And we're ready to invest together and get the profit together"

"We do have a lot of negotiations and yes Strikeforce is one of them..”

Vadim - "Fedor is the face of M-1 Global..." - M-1 stresses it has promoted MMA all over the world. should fight in UFC under the M-1 banner

M-1 stresses that to do a deal with UFC, they want co-promotion. They think it's important for MMA to have competition, not UFC dominance.

M-1 Global says it plans to increase the number of MMA shows it promotes.

“We do want to work with the UFC, but we don’t want to wait, we want to move forward”
“We will only work on co-promotion deals”
Vadim – "Fedor and I are partners and we share the same interests. Money isn’t everything…. We want to develop MMA. The UFC won’t be able to control the whole world."

Fedor - "I completely trust Vadim and I'm very happy we work together"

Gegard Mousasi is talking now... happy about the strikeforce fight.

Jerry says Fedor will be fighting very soon.... stay tuned.
4:54pm Call over.

Fedor is one of the owners of M-1 and they don't put on "shitty little regional shows." M-1 is tied in with FEG and promotes in four continents with fighters from over a dozen countries. Their version of TUF, takes place in Russia, continental Europe, Korea, Japan, and South America. 30 million is worth a lot less to Fedor than M-1 is.

Also, it’s very interesting to me how when a beloved MMA fighter makes a decision fans don’t agree with, they throw it on someone else. Randy never would have had problems with Zuffa if Kim didn’t get involved in his business affairs. Tito wouldn’t have made outlandish demands for money if Jenna didn’t get in his ear. And now Fedor’s entire life is decided by his manager? All 3 of those men are reasonably intelligent from what we’ve seen, they make the final decision because they want to, not because they’re subservient to a master. Vadim, Jenna and Kim obviously chipped in their two cents to Fedor, Tito and Randy, but they did not make the decision for them. It’s a copout to say “I’ll credit you for your good points but blame the bad ones on somebody else.”

He has no interest in the UFC. The sooner Dana realises that the better.

UFC is shown in about 40 countries, the events M-1 promotes in conjunction with FEG are broadcast to 80 countries, it just isn't worth it for Fedor, he is making far too much being one of the M-1 owners to not want to co-promote.

Not an M-1 employee, though probably wouldn't mind the job. Simply go to their website and it states the same info that you'd normally find on a promotional website. If you look on the website they have close relationships with major international networks like FOX and NTV, which UFC still cannot claim.
