I'm basing my vote simply on who seems to want it more. I almost feel like Lacy got the will beat out of him last year where as Miranda is just likes to fight and brawl.

Bad match up for my boy IMO...... i think lacy is able to hammer him. I dont think Pantera has the work rate, combo punching, speed, or movement to trouble a healthy, 100% lacy....

Miranda would try walking him down, and imo, get a bit beat up towards the middle rounds and maybe stopped late.

Lacy just fought a hard full fight with one arm basically, pulling out the victory.... i think its safe to say he still wants it.

I like both guys, but I think Miranda gets hit too much and Lacy's chin would hold out longer. Lacy's still a bad matchup for anyone who would stand toe to toe and slug with him without the defense to make him miss. It'd be an exciting fight while it lasted, though.

Yes, his fight with Tsypko showed me he still has the hunger to win.:bbb

I'm goin with Miranda. Can't forget how he beat the piss out of Allan Green. id love to agree with you man but, allan green doesnt have the chin of lacy, the power of lacy, the heart of lacy, once he got a taste of what Pantera was all about, he just tried to survive in there. Not only that but its a totally differant look that Lacy brings... Lacy is a in your face, bull of a fighter throwing overhand, fast, homerun type punches... Green fought the whole fight trying to survive, till he opened up... made pantera mad then got his ass beat lol! love that fight.

damn! what a fight this would be, especially b/c i think that mirandas punch resistance will be better at 168

To be honest... i actually think Mirandas long arms work against him... Just look at his arms, they are just LONG...

but for his punching, i think his punches are fine, as far as the way he throws them... thats not the problem imo, its his actual ABILITY... to move around, footwork, having a gameplan of sorts... if his punches arent breaking you down, have something else... body shots, ect.

Lacy is a former champ while Miranda is nothing more than a crude brawler with no defense, I see Lacy pounding his ass en route to a KO in the mid rounds.

I agree, but I see the KO coming earlier.

Lacy actually knows how to box
Miranda does not.

Is Miranda going to rely on a strength advantage? Speed Advantage? Power Advantage?
IMO he has nothing over Lacy in any department, some fields are close but most fall firmly in Jeff's favour.
Plus Edison has 0 skills to fall back on.

Jeff probably shouldnt be coming back against him though but even if he does It ends painfully for the Panther.

Jean Pascal is gonna fight Miranda and he's gonna fuck him up to a wide UD

Miranda by KO, about the 8th round. I think Miranda's power surprises Lacy. I also think Lacy's rotator cuff injury to his left shoulder has diminished his power.

I think some people underrate Mirandas boxing abilities. Its not that the only thing he has is power and hes not one dimensional, maybe a bit, but i think he has all the tools, just needs to make a few adjustment and learn to fight backwards as well.

Pre-Calzaghe Lacy would crush Miranda in a one-sided KO, but now it's impossible to wager a guess. Jeff is coming off a major surgery and has a diminished chin (as evidenced by the Tsypko fight), along with some lingering confidence issues.

It's an unknown to me, until we see more.

I agree, and good post. Miranda needs some range but can't dictate space (no movement, poor feet), and someone like Lacy could push him backward and land the harder shots at close-range.

I don't think this matchup would be good for either fighter in the immediate future.

yeah, why? seen him punch lately?
With time to heal and good physio there is no reason for his power to diminish.
I think that when Jeff does fight again physically he will be fine, it's all about mental strengh and IMO he has plenty of that. Jeff ko's Edison mid rounds, 6 or 7 would be my guess.

I agree with this but I'd much rather see Green take Pascal up on his challenge.

Lacy by TKO. He does everything better than Edison who IMO is just too crude for someone like Lacy.

I agree with this but I'd much rather see Green take Pascal up on his challenge.

I think Miranda is a better way for Pascal to test his chin and give him credit than Green. I think Miranda has more power then Green but in other departements Green is better. Still, Miranda is better known in the US and less Dangerous for Pascal at this point IMO. But Pascal will fight on october 6, november 23 and somewhere in March before taking on Miranda in the summer. It will make a good fight thats for sure.

Two punchers with not much skill. Either fighter could get KO'd.

I dont think there is much to underrate.

He has some talent and athletic ability no doubt, but he makes so many fundamental mistakes in the ring and has very little ring intelligence.

Talent can mask a fighters lack of true skill a lot of the time because they look like they know what their doing and its all predmeditated. It just comes natural to Miranda and when what comes natural doesnt work he turns to dirty tactics and slugging and when that doesnt work see vs Pavlik.

Good Post. Miranda is VERY limited technically. He really only knows how to fight one way and that is coming forward. Against lacy, Lacy has better defense in close quarters, tighter punchers, and IMO more power (especially at 168). This would end by Brutal KO.
