Holy shit, did we all see this coming or what?

This time they should force him to retire permanently.

Tanner
09-10-2007, 03:57 AM
McCline just always finds a way to lose - doesn't he? In this case, not even his own fault, he a big loser financially and opportunity-wise.

Fuck this sucks.......

Vitali is so injury prone!

I was really looking forward to his return.

Watch out.... Barrera is next....His excuse... "My doctor didn't give me permission to fight because my past operation has some complication" Will Blame Valero hurt him in Sparring.

Then Golden Boy will assigned Juarez as a replacement. Then Barrera finally retires Peacefully.

What a fucking suprise.

Damnit, he needs to retire FOR GOOD. Probally the most important part of a world class boxer is his training, if he can't do that without getting hurt then he simply does not need to be in the ring.

Id also like to add at this juncture.

Lewis TKO 6

Mr Glass strikes again :scaredas:
Can you believe it that Maskaev-Peter has been postphoned for almost a year thanks to Klits involvement while he was in no condition to fight at all? :patsch

This guy breaks so often he probably couln't even fight once a year...

I guess that's why he never got around to successfully defend his vacant title not once (unless you want to call Williams a serious defense :yep).
To think people were screaming he was ATG:-(

hitman_hatton1
09-10-2007, 05:07 AM
fucking hell he retires thru injury and now this. :patsch

i was looking forward to this as well.

i bet peter and maskaev are feeling a bit sick right now.

there potential payday could be out the window. :yep

Apparently he told the Bild newspaper "I can't believe my bad luck."

It's not luck, man...seriously...listen to what your body is trying to tell you.

Apparently he told the Bild newspaper "I can't believe my bad luck."

Exactly, when your body can't handle it anymore then just don't do it.

He will miraculously be fit by the time the peter-maskaev winner is ready for their next fight, the fight they have to fight against him.

Exactly, when your body can't handle it anymore then just don't do it.
Two things spring to mind.

He could be risking some pretty serious health problems in the long-term with trying to force his body to do what it used to be able to do. Boxing glory is all well and good but you don't want to be walking around like an bent-backed geriatric before you hit 50.

And secondly, even if he's able to reschedule and finally fight McCline, no matter what happens there it will make promoters and boxers nervous that he won't be able to make his fight dates and they'll be stuck delaying & rescheduling all the time.

He really needs to sit down and think about this. I'm sure he has faith in his abilities but then so does Riddick Bowe. I know about the whole Klitschko Dream thing but at what point does it really not become worth it?

From BBC Sports:

Former WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has postponed his comeback fight against Jameel McCline after suffering a back injury.
The 36-year-old was due to fight for the first time in three years on 22 September but underwent emergency spinal disc surgery on Saturday.

"I can't believe my bad luck," Klitschko told German newspaper Bild.

Klitschko's last fight was in December 2004 when he stopped Danny Williams in the eighth round.

A string of injuries, including a serious knee injury, forced him to retire in November 2005 before announcing his comeback earlier this year.

He is expected to be sidelined for six weeks after his latest setback.

09-10-2007, 07:35 AM
That sucks. He should just retire, which is very hard for a boxer.

I liked to see Vitali fight again, but with his injuries it's best if he just retires. It also gives Wlad more opportunities to unify.

he's never been the same since the beating he took off lewis.

Tanner
09-10-2007, 07:48 AM
I can only reflect on the old feeling that the Klitschkos spent way too much time in Germany and, especially in Vitali's case, they needed to come to the U.S. sooner and fight for titles...Vitaliy needed those extra 3 or 4 years to fulfill his potential - now it is too late..

vonBanditos
09-10-2007, 08:04 AM
Thankfully he didn't stick to his guns and push for the Maskaev fight. It sucks that he won't be fighting, but at least he didn't hold up what little progress the division is making.

Yeah, he was shot because he lost a round in his three post-Lennox fights. :nut

This guy is very fragile - to be as big as he is.

There go the second upcoming fight down the drain. Let's see how many more get cancelled.

achillesthegreat
09-10-2007, 08:19 AM
What a shame. He clearly doesn't have the most sturdiest body and age has got to him now.

He should retire but fighters don't always do what they should...

...and sometimes they show us greatness that only they knew they had.

If Vitali decided to still come back, then it would display an act of greatness. Anyone who gets injured 5 times in a row has to give up.

When Calzaghe was getting injured over and over again, he came back and shut everyone up by dominating Jeff Lacy.

:good And taking another Trainer. Vitali is staying with Fritz Sdunek, a bad choice.

Wlad changes to Steward, who better knows to train professional boxing.

It has become obivious that VK's body is simple beginning to breakdown. This happens to most athletes (but not all, see E. Holyfield) after many years of extreme physical activity. Actually, one doesn't have to be a professional athlete for this to happen, just being overly active can simply wear a body out, so to speak. It has nothing to do with being fragile, scared or any other stupid theory some of these morons come up with.

So for all you young guys out there, it will eventually happen to 98% of you.

As the ole saying goes, "Shit Happens".

This has just become one big joke....

Every 6 month V. Klitschko begins talking about coming back, and wanting a rematch with Lewis....

Lisen, somehow I do think that, the vicious beating Vitali received vs Lewis, made his body 10 years older in one night.

He will never be fit enough to fight again, should he really comeback, I think its going to be a very different V.Klitscko that we are going to see....

...but consider all the 1000s of comments posted to ESB about VITKLIT is going to do this, and VITKLIT is going to do that...

...and yet look how quiet all of the KLIT-ites are when he doesn't show up...this thread had like 20 something posts last year, with like 900 views...nice ratio, huh...

...and they'll all be quiet as church mice again soon...:-(

Get a life or at least a job. Your problems with Klits or their nuthuggers are not normal...

You weren't even here a year ago, so add something to the conversation, or f*ck off, if you've already f*cked off carry on.

Your F8cking up peoples moment of clarity, as they realize...that yes, VITKLIT always backs out.
