Just curious , i've seen their demands and cross-promotion is an absolute impossibility for Zuffa...Dana said that they tried "everything"...Apparently not.
If Vadim's demands are way out of line how come all other org owners accepted M1's conditions ?
Ok , maybe a co-promotion with affliction was "the" best option for T-shirt guy since affliction was counting on fed's reputation to make an impact in the mma scene...
But both Bodog & pride fc existed before fedor...How come they never had any problems with M1 ? ...
I do understand Dana's position...Why bother right ? after all , they made mma hugely popular in the united states and don't need to co-promote with anybody...they have the monopoly of the sport.. and it would be too easy for M1 to just ask for 50/50 since they're nobodies in the united state...
But Dana said several times that he's doing it for the fans. (i personally think it's utter bullshit...he just realises that Lesnar vs Fedor would be one of the biggest fight in mma history).... However , why not accept a 1 fight deal ?...
Let's just have Lesnar & Fed...No matter who wins , Fed goes back to japan or strikeforce (or whatever org M1 will be associated with)...Once the fight is over and end of story...
If Lesnar wins , he'll get rid of the "fedor" dilema....and if Fedor wins , so what ?...Just imagine how fucking huge this fight would be ? Sure it would kill lesnar's credibility as "the champ"....
But the fans will not suddenly ignore Lesnar...It's kinda like the Kimbo phenomena....people like kimbo for his persona and he's still a "cash cow"...(why do you think dana still accepted him at TUF ? )...
And afterall , it's not like it would be a first for the UFC...
( 2004 , Penn goes to the ufc to fight Matt Hughes...Owns him , then goes back to japan in K1 )...Yeah Dana was supremely pissed at the time but Matt went on to accumulate 6 straight wins after that...and everything was forgotten)...Matt was still marketable as a champ...
So why not do an exception with Lesnar vs Fedor ?...Sure it's risky for a promoter but at the same time , a fight like this would be monumental and break ppv records...
