I know he was hurt against mason, bruno, stunned by mercer, briggs, a little by mavrovic, can't remember holyfield, tua? and wobbling against vitali. (the ko losses not included).
but, he got the job done most of the time.
please discuss!

Depends what you mean by hurt. Any decent punch that lands from a decent heavyweight is going to hurt to some degree, no matter how good your chin is.
I would say "hurt" generally means visibly shaken or stunned to the point that you have to do something about it, like retreat, bear hug, take a count, etc. By this definition I would say he was rarely hurt.
I don't believe Mason hurt him at all (I may be wrong, it was a long time ago), Bruno outboxed him and caught him often but I don't recall him getting hurt.
Briggs hurt him, although Lewis was looking for a proper punch up in that one.
Same with Mavrovic but to a lesser extent. Not at all against Holyfield, and Tua barely landed let alone hurt him.
Vitali did give him a fair few whacks that had him in some trouble, but strangely he didn't seem to bother defending against them, like a bravado thing.
Tyson landed some full blooded punches, but he didn't even blink.
Thinking about it, he had a tough old set of whiskers on him...

I know he was knocked out twice and couldn't beat the count.

Yeah - he was only really KO'ed by Rahman.

He's been hurt plenty of times in his career - but he has always managed to pull out a victory. Remember - he's one of the only Heavyweights to beat every man that he's faced in the ring. And boy did he take out some vengenace on his opponents after they beat him.

Id say the Vitali right hand in rd 2 and a Tua left hook in rd 3 that cause dhim to rop his hands and his legs went wobbly causing him to back into the ropes but he took a deep breath and regained composure whilst Tua blew his opportunity and stood back scred to follow up. Even the commentaters didnt notice this moment, perhaps thinking Lewis was showboating feining being hurt but he was hurt.
Rahman hurhim with a flush right hand in rd 5 of the first fight which caused him to momentarily grab Rahmans waist and drop his hands, again he took a deep breath and looked steady but under a minute later he went down and was counted out by another right hand.

he got hurt quite a bit, but he managed to recover and usually knock the other man out.

He was hurt lots of times, also in sparring by Ruiz, Brewster and Jeremy Williams. I never saw him hurt in a fight though, apart from the first McCall fight. Against Rahman he was just fatigued in the high altitude, that's why he was gasping for air like a fish on the floor and just didn't have the enrgy to get up

He got hurt loads. Loads and loads. He's a boxer in the biggest division, he probably got hurt pretty seriously most fights.

Always worth noting about Lewis - he was down less than almost any other great lineal champ. Twice is nothing, though of course he was counted out both times.

Who KNOWS how many times Lewis was hurt! What really matters is that he is the ONLY top level HW champ who was taken out early TWICE by second-rate fighters. The evidence shows that once you put Lewis on the canvas, the fight was OVER. :nod

The same evidence also shows that Foreman, Frazier, Tyson, hell even Dempsey were down more times than Lewis.

Will you shut the fuck up about the Williams sparring incident? How many times do people have to inform you that he was thrown down by a fucking judo move?

Watch the video for your fucking self, moron. It's on YouTube. Williams uses judo moves to take Lewis down.

Somehow I don't think his takedown defence is in any way relevant when it comes to rating Lewis' chin.

Wrong, wrong,wrong.

50% of YOUR evidence shows Lewis getting to his feet and being robbed by a bullshit ref's decision. Your bias is now reducing you to making things up Zakman. You have really slipped lately - you admit to trolling MMA fans, you troll every Lewis subject with the same banal mantra and now making glaring mistakes re HW records.

Are there no shaky chinned prospects out there for you to call out? Perhaps old Audley is the lucky one you built a rep on?

lennox was very good at getting out of trouble once he was hurt, one more solid punch might have dropped him, but no one managed to deliver it to the already wobbling lewis. he deserves credit for that.

i've heard these before, the williams incident is nothing to do with boxing, just a hopelessly out of his depth boxer resorting to fucking judo.

but where are the sources and proof behind the brewster and ruiz rumours?

Where are the facts? :-(

I'm the biggest Brewster fan on here with billybadazzy2k.
In all respect to Brewster, I have heard he was pretty much played around with by Lennox, which I think is the truth.
