View Full Version : Calzaghe v Kessler
Calzaghe and Kessler attended a press conference at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff today.
Both fighters met ahead of their fight on November 3rd where all their super middleweight titles are at stake.
Calzaghe said he is hoping to pull out a performance that will surpass his great display against Lacy whereas Kessler says he believes he is stronger than his opponent and a hungrier fighter - although both boxers do have mutual respect for eachother.
Apparently thousands of tickets have been sold and it could break records for indoor attendance at a boxing event.

I wouldnt go if you gave me a ticket unless it was ringside (or within touching distance). The view for the Calzaghe MAnfredo fight from the cheap seats was pointless. The big screen wasnt on. Cardiff was full of blokes afterwards.
Home with a cup of tea and a hob nob for me I think.

It was only Manfredo anyway.

Seriously though, this is going to be a great fight with two heavy punchers. Any ideas where to get front row ringside tickets from?

I found a site that has tickets, their packages look awesome if you have a few quid to spare. Certainly worth taking a look.

I am considering getting me a couple of the ringside seats. Who else here thinks that Kessler is gonna get whooped?
I hope Enzo Maccarinelli gets a confirmed fight on the undercard too. Two welsh greats on the same night.

It was scheduled for 1am but its almost certainly been brought forward to 10pm so a man in the Calzaghe camp tells me.

1 - 2 am fight time I believe, which will lead to anarchy in the streets of Cardiff come 3am, especially with SUnday hours on public transport!!

I just can't get on the Kessler is a super fighter bandwagon i'd much rather he fought Hopkins. I know i'm in the minority but he just doesn't strike me as been that good. Yes he can box and he can move reasonably well but recently in the press he has been referred to as great??? on what basis? He hasn't beaten anyone of real note. I say Calzaghe blasts him inside 6 rounds and then Kessler is written off by the same people who were calling him great as a fraud. I just can't get excited about this one and been one of the few people lucky enough to watch both fighters and assess them from my own POV I have to say the only thing good about this fight is it will be gr8 reading all the Kessler Nuthuggers excuses after fight night.

I will not count Calzaghe out of this fight, but I do see him having a hard time against a guy like Kessler.
Could be a very entertaining fight, I really hope it gets aired in Aus. I don't want to have to be watching it on some wong tong type internet broadcast.

Think the fight being moved later in the evening is to accommodate
US boxing fans.
