For me, this has the potential to be one of the highest entertaining boiuts out there. Both like to attack the body & realise the importance of such an attack.

Now, if the fight takes place, it will be at 147lbs, no less. Cotto's team have already saud if the fight were to happen, it would have to be at Welter, no even a catch-weight would interest them.

Cotto is a beats of a man, even at 147lbs. Miguel may only be 5'8, but he very stocky, thich-set, and is very strong at the weight. How he made 140lbs for so long I'll never know! It was plain to see to us all that he was struggling deperately to make 140lbs.

I feel Cotto is more durable at Welter - he took some solid shots from Judah. Hatton doesn't hit as hard as Judah, so personally, I can't see Hatton being able to really hurt Cotto.

In this fight, we would possibly see Hatton try to box a bit more, fight a some-what smarter fight if you know what I mean. It would not be wise for Hatton to meet Cotto head-on, to trade with him. Ricky would come off worse in my view.

Cotto doesn't waste too may punches, picks his shots well. I do think Miguel gets hit a bit too much, so I imagine he'll be working on defense for Mosley in Nov.

What you are forgetting RR94 against collazo he had five weeks to prepare for a welterweight fight and he cut corners and collazo is big for a welterweight. I don't think it would be a blow out. Hatton would be a very tough fight for Miguel, but I think Cotto would take it out. Cotto is actually an effective boxer, for those of you who have seen his earlier fights against the likes of Cesar Bazan and even Abduleav. He can box and move effectively when he wants to, and this is what I would expect from him against Hatton. To use the ring, pick his shots and stay tight defensively. Eventually I think the cleaner harder shots of Cotto would wear him down, although you can never rule out the tenacity of Hatton.

I don't know why people are even mentioning the fight at 140lbs, because Cotto doesn't fight at that weight anymore. Hatton would need to move up to 147lbs. Hatton would put the pressure on, as he does with all his opponents, and Cotto would be too strong. He's physically much stronger after moving up and settling into 147lbs. It would be a great fight, no question. But Cotto would dismantle Hatton down the stretch.
