It seemes rather we like it or not MMA is hear to stay.
Will there be cards that feture both boxing and MMA matches?
Will there be a "Bo Jackson"of Pro fighting? By which I mean will there be anyone who secueds as both a Boxer and as a MMArtist at the same time.
I woulld think that within the next 5 years if not sooner we may see mixed fight cards, but I'm not sure we will ever have a "Bo Jackson" of fighting.

Boxing ain't going nowhere.

The two sports will co-exist.

Putting them on the same card could be interesting.

Boxing will inevitably crush the UFC fad. Why?? Because it's actual COMBAT, with ACTION - not boring rolling around on the ground! :nod

Yeah just like boxing is crushing the UFC now with its high TV ratings and all of those sponsors lining up as well as sell out arenas every month for PPV events in Las Vegas. Yeah boxing is crushing the UFC!
Lets excite the masses with another mini-flyweight world title fight and put the final nail in the UFC's coffin.

NAH, wont happen.

Mid level boxers make more per fight than even the top MMA fighters. There is ZERO reason for that to ever happen.

Tho I could see someone crossing over for a fight or two then coming back....but only if the money is right.

In North Dakota we already have shows that have both MMA and Boxing in the same card.

Interesting questions despite some of the posters trying to turn this into a boxing vs MMA thread as usual.

I happen to disagree with you though.

I think there could be some mid level promotions that attempt to have cards that have boxing and MMA matches but I don't see it catching on with fight fans. To me the sports are different enough that they will stay separate at the highest levels

As far as a Bo Jackson type appearing? Why not? I could easily see in some years time, one guy holding a major belt in both boxing and MMA. The pro boxer with fairly well developed ground skills could arguably be the guy to do it.

We'll see.
