His skill level matches his intelligence almost perfectly. He is a great character though I will give him that. From what I have heard he has lived a pretty hard life.

He strikes me as the sort of bloke who would be non stop bouncing off the walls. Would be a dead set nut as a personal trainer. I take it he doesn't work with the elderly.

At least unlike most other Aussie based boxers, he aint scared to face tough competition.
Too many other guys around his weight class keep fighting bums for ages.

Go sonny Go.Should be a classic aussie bout..Plenty of fireworks.

Hopefully Soony clubs the fuck out of the grug...

One thing that can be garunteed is a shitload of behind the head clubs from sonny and a shitload of low blows from the Bulli bum.

Thriller

somone needs to teach sonny how to throw a right hand, he is till clubbing with it, if he threw it straight with those arms of his he would be a knock out artist!!!!!!

Just curious, when was the last time Taylor impressed you if ever??

He hasnt won a significant fight even on a domestic level in long time.

Going 12 rounds with Arthur Abraham is far better then any domestic level accomplishment though

No one overrates Taylor tho.
He had some moments earlier in his career, but in most part he has underachieved.

I stand corrected..

Kind of sums old Shannon Taylor up doesnt it??

Best performance being a unanimous points loss in a world title fight.

I was only in my early teens when i seen Shannon get ko against julian holland. At the time i though it was one of boxing's biggest upsets as i was to young and stupid to realise Taylor wasnt that good.

Anyone think he has much Cash??He has fought in a few world title bouts and the Mosley bout would of atleast got him a few hundred grand.

Maybe, but there are so many costs involved in fighting at that level as well that I wouldn't be suprised if he didn't. Being a coke addict probably wouldn't have helped his cause either. Coke is a very expensive habit to have as it costs about $300 per gram. Could have dwindled away pretty quickly.

Actually i thought Taylor did well surviving 5 or 6rds against Mosley when he got caught and almost stopped with 10 secs to go in rd 1.

Apart from that the press in those early years overrated him with the talent he had.....for god sakes the average punter in the streets thought he was better then zoo.....footy mates of mine actually thought Zoo was scared to fight him at one point :patsch

Dumb Question. Although I didn't know he was a bit of a shady character. Although I guess it comes with the job.

Guys, could someone fill me in a little more about Sonny Michael Angelo?

I have read a little abouit him but am yet to see him fight. What makes him so interesting, what are his strengths and weaknesses?
Where did he come from, how long in Aus etc?

He seems to be very controversial, but why?

I know very little about this guy, the more info someoen can provide the better,

Cheers

So I'm up late, kids asleep and I go for a stroll down memory lane into the annals of the Aussie forum...and look what I find!!

I was very surprised Taylor went the distance with Abraham. Word got out before the fight, that Taylor had busted his ribs. That made me certain that Abraham would stop him, but he didn't.

I saw the fight online, and it was a strange performance by Abraham. Taylor never really went on the attack, and Abraham was reluctant to step up the pace.

It was quite remarkable to say the least.

To be honest it was a horrible performance by a bloke fighting for a world title.

As a challenger you would of expected alot more effort from Taylor.
Abraham and the other hand fought like a cat himself it was just a horrible bout and horrible performance by both the champ and challenger.
