Good to see Barry Michael on the program DSS.

Barry's copped some flack lately for some of his commentary, but this should in no way detract from his long and distinguished career as a lightweight/super featherweight hardman, and what he achieved along the way.

His war with Al 'Earthquake' Carter was certainly as good a bout on local soil as I've ever seen, and that's from someone who was at Festival Hall the night he took Lester's title.

Flamengo managed to get me a signed poster of Barry from that very fight.

However, it came with the comment;
'To Leon, Stop staring at my package, keep punching, Barry Michael, IBF World Champ 1985-1987'

I second that one. His fight with Earthquake earned him a spot in my Pound 4 Pound top 10 all time (born in oz) rankings. refer other thread.

To walk through Carter's power with a smile was Anzac spirit.
