I have him no.7 at the moment but a good case could be made for him being 3. I wonder where Ring will put him.

I have him no. 8, and have no problem seeing him as high as no. 6. I think having him break into the top 5 at the moment is a little much, though... With PBF, Manny, Winky, the Marquez bros, and B-Hop all around.

Put this is another thread.

I'd say at least #5

1. PBF
2. Pac
3. Winky
4. JMM
5. Hatton
6. B-Hop
7. Calzaghe
8. Cotto
9. Rafa Marquez
10. Taylor/Mosley

I'm happy with him anywhere 5-8. I have him maybe 7 now. Still only the number 2 Brit on the list though...

Talent-wise agreed but I think this puts him above Calzaghe in terms of quality of opposition, especially recently.

I have him splitting the Marquez brothers at number 4.

I know that puts me in the minority, but the may I see it, if he beats Cotto, then he's three, if he beats Mayweather then he's two. So four is a comfy spot for him.

I think he burries Cal p4p. You have to take his achievments into account friend, and I wouldn't even have Cal above Ricky in that department if he beats Kessler. They've just followed different career paths - Hatton's has seen mow through the game's second tier plus two world class fighters - Calzaghe's been campaigning two slots below that, with one world class fighter.

Is it just me or is JMM suddenly overrated? I'm impressed with Rafael's moving up to take Vasquez (who I hold in high esteem), but I think JMM's win over MAB said more about Barrera. I'm just not convinced he's a top 5 p4p guy.

I think he is a tad overated, yes. Though i do have him at 5. I actually think he's the weaker of the two brothers, although most have things the other way around.

I can see him at 4 easily. His wins over Kostya & Castillo has gotta be more than a match for JMM win over MAB & Rafa's win over Israel & Johnson+Austin.

I disagree. JMM IMO has tougher comp than his brother. Whereas Rafa has A level fighters to deal with, JMM has HOF & ATG's. Had JMM got a hold of Morales & MAB early (possibly beat them) and got the nod over Pac, we can all very easily see him as no.1. I guess Rafa has had less hiccups than his bro.

On skill or achievement?

On achievement he edges Cotto.

On skill he is just outside top 20.

C'mon, no way of justifying Cotto being higher than Hatton p4p. Cotto is currently my 2nd fav fighter after Pac but Hatton's wins over Kostya & Castillo just overshadows Cotto's win over Judah. Castillo is also no more shot than Judah, just look at the results of their last few fights.

Relentless didnt you pick Castillo to destroy Hatton? As it stands, the opposite just happened.

yeah right if he beats Mayweather and Cotto, then he has beaten every top guy in and around his weight, forget about your little Ring Magazine P4P number one spot he would go down as one of the top 3 guys ever to fight at below middleweight

Definitely not above Cotto. 140 is a pretty weak division.
weak is not the word...tidy after Hatton has cleaned it out

I like it that people are starting to give Rafael Marquez his dues , he dominated down at Bantamweight and is now the Super Bantamweight king .

Not to mention he's one of the most exciting fighters out there and his rematch with Israel Vasquez is destined to be a belter .

As for Hatton in my lb 4 lb , probably #5

Are you for real? Hatton's win over Tszyu alone shits all over anything Cotto has done.

I did a month off bet. I kept saying Floyd would win the fight but radar kept listing me under the people that picked DLH and his reasoning for it is because he thought I was Widdow_MaKers cousin :conf

Cotto isn't top 10, never mind ahead of Hatton. He looks good, yes, but his best win is against someone who was outpointed by Carlos fucking Baldomir and hasn't won a fight in over two years.

I'd probably have Hatton around 5.
